Brandon’s Fair Trade Committee is launching a month-long dessert journey this October for your enjoyment! After an open call for participation from local restaurants, The Dock on Princess, Chez Angela Bakery and Café and Lady of the Lake are taking Fair Trade Chocolate and crafting delicious treats to celebrate 10 years of Brandon being a Fair Trade Town.

Throughout the month of October, The Fair Trade chocolate used for your treat  ensures that producers in developing countries receive fair wages, work under safe conditions and engage in environmentally sustainable practices.

Why are we celebrating a decade of Brandon being a Fair Trade Town? We have been able to purchase Fair Trade products from grocery stores, retailers and restaurants for 10 years in Brandon. You can continue to pay a fair price to farmers in the global south by buying items with the Fair Trade logo on it, like chocolate, coffee, sugar, bananas, coconut oil, wine and spices.
