E-waste

All of the old, end-of-life electronics collected at the Eastview Landfill’s E-waste site is bundled and packaged on a palette for collection by the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA).

EPRA is a not-for-profit organization that operates regulated recycling programs across Canada and helps keep 100,000 metric tonnes of old electronics out of landfills each year. Once collected, the products are processed and broken down to harvest the raw materials that went into them including glass, plastics, and any precious metals. Recovered materials are then put back into the manufacturing supply chain and used to make new products.

When you bring your old, end-of-life electronics to the E-waste site, you help:

1. Keep old electronics out of landfills
2. Prevent them from being illegally exported or handled by irresponsible recyclers
3. And recover and recycle valuable resources that can be put back into the manufacturing supply chain

Floor-Standing Multi-Function Devices

• Floor-standing photocopiers and Multi-Function Devices (MFDs). This will include all printing and copying devices, utilizing all printing technologies, that are floor-standing models and can print on media with dimensions up to 48″ wide, and are up to a maximum weight of 200 kg. Effective May 1, 2014.
