My curbside collection cart is damaged, how can I get it repaired/replaced?

My curbside collection cart was not emptied on my collection day, how can I report this?
Curbside collection carts can be left full due to the following issues being found during collection activities:
- The cart is contaminated – this means items not accepted through curbside pick up OR items placed in the wrong carts has been indicated.

- The cart was set out for collection after 6 AM.
- The cart has additional waste set out around the carts or the cart is too full/heavy.
- The collection street, lane or carts are/were blocked by a vehicle or other obstacle.

I cannot locate my curbside collection cart; how can I report this?
Collection carts are the sole responsibility of the resident. It is advised to search the vicinity of the property, if you do not know the serial number of the cart(s), please call us 204-729-2281 or email solidwaste@brandon.ca to obtain them.
If you are unable to locate the cart(s) after looking for them, you may be required to pay for a replacement. Please see the current Fee Schedule for pricing.
What free diversion programs are available at the Eastview Landfill?
Scrap metal – Free disposal for City of Brandon residents only

What does contamination of cart(s) mean?
Contamination means items that are not accepted through curbside collection (ex. Tree waste, scrap metal, oversized items, etc) OR placing items in the wrong carts (ex. Waste in your recycling cart, waste or recycling in your organics (green) cart, etc.)
If you’ve received a notice about cart contamination or you suspect your carts were not collected because of contamination, you will need to dispose of the contaminated materials outside of the curbside collection by bringing the material to the Eastview Landfill (may be subject to applicable fees).
What is the WRARS Levy?
WRARS Levy stands for Waste Reduction & Recycling Support Levy which is a $10.00 per tonne fee charged on all waste disposed at a waste management facility in Manitoba. The fees collected are remitted to the Province of Manitoba.
You can reduce the amount paid towards this levy through diversion of materials by recycling, re-use, donation or utilizing the many diversion programs throughout the Eastview Landfill.
What is the Post Closure Levy?
The Post Closure Levy is a fee charged on all waste disposed at the Eastview Landfill. The funds collected through this levy are placed into a reserve that will help offset the cost of the closure and continued maintenance after closure of the landfill.
The Eastview Landfill is currently estimated to close by 2054 and must be maintained and monitored for 25 years after closure activities are completed.
What is my collection day?
Collection days are currently Tuesday through Friday, your collection day is based on location within the City of Brandon. Please visit: Schedule / Maps to find your collection day.
In the City of Brandon, when your collection day falls on New Year’s Day, Remembrance Day or Christmas Day, your collection day will be moved to the following Saturday. To view the current schedule, visit: Schedule / Maps
How can I sign up for an organics (green) cart?
The organics program (green cart) runs from Spring to Fall every year. Exact start and end dates announced in advance through Facebook, Instagram, Brandon Sun and on our website.
Organics carts will be delivered a few weeks in advance of the start up of the program each year. Be advised that yearly available quantities may be limited.
