Domestic Related Assaults:
A 21 year-old male was arrested for assault and failing to comply with conditions of a release order on Saturday evening after he attacked his female partner. The attack ended when the accused’s father intervened. During the investigation, it was determined that the accused was already on a court ordered condition to have no contact or communication with the victim as a result of a prior incident. The accused will appear before the court later today.
At about 10:35 PM Saturday night, Police were called to a Cornell Bay apartment building for a disturbance. Upon attending, it was determined that the two occupants, who are in an intimate partner relationship, had assaulted each other. A 33 year-old male, and a 35 year-old female were subsequently arrested and charged with assault. Both will be released on appropriate police imposed conditions and are scheduled to appear in court on November 6th.
Assault:
Just after 1:00 AM Sunday morning, it was reported by a 15 year-old female that her intoxicated uncle had returned to the residence in the 400 block 11th St and assaulted her by pushing her down, and punching her in the face / head several times. The 21 year-old male suspect was located at the residence and arrested for assault. He will be released from custody later today on appropriate police imposed conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on November 20th.
Impaired Driver:
A 19 year-old male driver struck a centre median traffic light standard at 18th St & Park Ave., at approximately 3:15 AM Sunday morning. He fled the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle behind. Investigation located him in a room at a nearby hotel where he was arrested for impaired operation. He subsequently provided breath samples showing a BAC more than one and one half times the legal limit. He will be released from custody later today and is scheduled to appear in court on September 14th.
Arrest Warrant Executed:
On Saturday morning, Thompson RCMP advised arresting a 39 year-old female, formerly of Brandon, on the strength of unendorsed warrants for arrest during an unrelated call. The warrants were for failing to attend court, failing to attend for identification, and fraudulently obtaining transportation. She was held in custody at their point to appear before the court.
