Impaired Driving

On July 2, 2020 at 7:00 am, police responded to a report of a vehicle, which was hung up on a meridian in the 4500 block of Victoria Ave. The male driver of the vehicle initially provided a false name. Investigation revealed that he was to have no communication with the passenger. He was also found to be intoxicated, and provided two samples of this breath. Both samples were more than twice the legal limit. The 28-year-old male driver will appear in court on a later date, on charges of Impaired Driving, Drive Over 80 mg% fail to comply with Recognizance and Public Mischief.

The 23-year-old female passenger was also intoxicated and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Break & Enter to Shed

On July 2, 2020, police received a report of a Break and Enter to a residential shed in the 700 block of 22nd street. The incident is believed to have occurred between 7:30 am on July 1, and 2:00 pm on July 2. Stolen was a Greenworks Weedwacker. Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Break and Enter to Compound

On July 2, 2020, police received a report of a Break and Enter to a compound in the south end of Brandon. Suspects cut the wire fence to gain entry. Once inside, they entered several campers, which were stored there. It is unknown if anything was stolen. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Use Forged Document – Forged Prescription

On July 2, 2020, police responded to four separate complaints of forged prescriptions, which were used at separate pharmacies within Brandon. The fraudulent prescriptions were for codeine cough syrup.

Investigation led police to learn the identity of the three suspects, who were later located and arrested just before 8:00 pm. A 33-year-old male, a 26-year-old male, and a 29-year-old male were each arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. They will appear in court today on charges of Use Forged Document. The males are each from Edmonton Alberta.

 

Impaired Driving

On July 3, shortly after midnight, police received a report of an individual operating a dirt bike erratically in the downtown area. Police located the driver at 1st street and Southern Ave. The 19-year-old male driver was arrested. He provided samples of his breath, which were over the legal limit. He was released on numerous HTA offences and an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.

 

Fail to Comply with Probation

On July 3, 2020, police conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of 22nd street. A 21-year-old female passenger was found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Comply with Probation. She will appear in court at a later date.

 

Stolen Vehicle recovered – Impaired Driving

On July 3, 2020, police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of 8th street. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Winnipeg. The 29-year-old male driver was also found to be impaired and provided breath samples over the legal limit. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. The 35-year-old female passenger was also arrested and lodged. They will be released when sober to appear in court at a later date on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Unlawfully in a Dwelling

On July 3, 2020, at approximately 5:30 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male who had entered a residence while the occupants were home. The suspect was still in the residence when police arrived. The 46-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. Once sober he will be released to appear in court on a later date.

 

Breach of the Peace

On July 2, 2020 at approximately 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence. A 22-year-old male was intoxicated and acting out. The others in the residence were unable to keep him safe or prevent his behavior from escalating. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service.
