Flight from Police 

At 3:15 PM on Tuesday afternoon police attempted to stop a vehicle at 18th Street and Louise Avenue. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for police signal and proceeded East along Louise Avenue and shortly after the incident started, abandoned the vehicle in a back lane in the 400 blk of 5th Street. Police units were able to apprehend the driver, a 40 year old man from Dauphin as well as a 33 year old female who was also from Dauphin and who was an occupant in the vehicle. The vehicle turned out to be stolen from another community outside of Brandon. As a result of this incident the male driver was charged with Flight from Police, Fail to stop for police signal, Drive Suspended as well as Possess Property Obtained by Crime. The male was remanded into custody and was to appear in remand in Court. The female occupant of the vehicle was charged with Possess Property Obtained by Crime and was released on an Appearance Notice to appear in Court on a later date.

 

Possession of a Weapon 

At 6:07 PM police attended to a call at a Mall in the south end of Brandon where store security had apprehended a male subject who had what was believed to be a hand gun in his possession. Upon arrival police confirmed the gun was actually a pellet gun. A 19 year old Brandon man was charged with possessing a weapon and was subsequently released on an Undertaking to appear in court on September 10th, 2020.

 

Assault with a Weapon / Domestic Assault

At 7:41 PM police attended to a residence in the 400 blk of 17th Street for a complaint that someone had been injured during the course of a domestic dispute. As a result of the incident both parties involved were jointly charged with Assault. Both individuals lived here in Brandon. A 27 year old woman was charged with Assault with a Weapon and a 28 year old man was charged with domestic Assault. Both subject were released on Undertakings to appear in Brandon Court on September 17th, 2020 and September 21st, 2020 respectively. 

 

Assault / Mischief Under $ 5000.00 

At 10:43 PM police attended to a complaint of a neighbor kicking at the complainant’s door in a residence in the 2200 blk of Pacific Avenue. When the tenant open the door she was assaulted by the 23 year old Brandon woman. As a result of this incident the 23 year old Brandon woman was arrested and charged with Assault as well as Mischief Under $ 5000.00. The woman was released on an Undertaking to appear in Brandon Court on October 29th, 2020 

 

Domestic Assault Causing Bodily Harm 

At 11:21 PM police attended to a residence in the 1400 blk of 5th Street for a complaint that someone had been injured during the course of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival police learned that a 56 year old Brandon man had assaulted his ex-girlfriend by choking and punching her and refused to let her leave the residence. While there, the man also assaulted his ex-girlfriends mother. Although the male was not present in the residence upon police arrival he was located by police a short time later and arrested. As a result of this incident the man stands charged with assault causing Bodily Harm, Utter Threats, and Choke to overcome resistance, Forcible Confinement as well as Break and Enter. The man will appear in Remand in the morning. 

 

Assault with a Weapon 

At 12:44 Am on July 22, 2020 police attended to a residence in the 300 blk of 23rd Street regarding a complaint of a Break and enter in progress. A second call was received from the same residence indicating that someone inside the residence had been cut by what was believed to be a machete. Police located the male who had received a cut to his lower leg and shortly after that had the man taken to BRHC. This investigation is still under investigation at this time.
