Break & Enter

On Sunday morning at approx. 7:00 AM a resident in the 200 block of Dennis street reported that sometime overnight their shed was broken into. The suspect(s) used a pry bar to gain entry and an assortment of hand tools, a fishing bag and a Velo bike were all stolen. This matter is still under investigation.

Aggravated Assault

On Sunday at approx. 10:30 AM, BPS officers located the female suspect from a stabbing incident at the Crystal Hotel, which took place on July 16th. The 26-year-old female from Brandon was arrested and charged with one count each of Aggravated assault, Assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. She appeared for bail and is being held in custody until her next court appearance.

Arrest Warrants Executed

On Sunday afternoon, BPS officers attended to the Brandon Correctional Center to assist the RCMP with arresting an inmate on outstanding charges. Officers arrested a 42-year-old male and executed two warrants with charges of Possessing Property obtained by crime, Break & Enter X2, and Theft or Misuse of a credit card X2. The male will appear in Brandon court on July 20th to answer to these charges.

At approx. 5:30 Sunday afternoon, officers conducted a person’s check on a male who was observed stumbling in the 200 block of Princess Ave. The male was found to be highly intoxicated, and once identified police confirmed that he was the subject of an outstanding warrant of arrest. The 36-year-old male from Brandon, was arrested on the strength of the warrant for failing Breaching his Probation order. Once sober, he was released with a court date of October 15th, 2020.

Fail to Comply with Release order

Late Sunday evening, officers conducted a person’s check on a male in the 800 block of Pacific Ave. The male was found to be highly intoxicated, and once identified police confirmed that he was currently bound by a Release Order to abstain from the consumption of alcohol, and to obey a curfew. The 36-year-old male from Brandon was arrested for two counts of breaching his release order and was lodged at BPS. He is set to appear in court on July 20th.

Impaired Driver & Motor Vehicle Accident

At approx. 1:30 AM on Monday, an officer noticed a completely destroyed bus shelter in the 800 block of 18th Street. A license plate was located at the scene which led to the police locating the vehicle at the owners residence. A 24-year-old female was located at the residence, observed to be highly intoxicated and admitted to being the operator who caused the accident. She was arrested for Driving While Impaired and brought to BPS to be processed. She was later released to appear in court on Oct 19th, with charges of Impaired driving and Drive with over 80mg% of blood alcohol.

Other Arrests 

On Sunday evening, two adult males and one adult female were arrested overnight and held at the Brandon Police Service under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, until such time they sobered up.
