Arrest Warrants Executed:

Manitoba First Nations Police Service arrested a 34 year old female resident of Birdtail Sioux FN on the strength of a BPS held warrant for arrest for failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.  She will appear in court at their point.

A 21 year-old male was arrested Saturday afternoon at his Brandon residence on a warrant for arrest for failing to attend court.  He was held in custody and will appear before the court this morning.

Winnipeg Police Service arrested two individuals on the strength of arrest warrants held by BPS.  A 22 year-old male was arrested for failing to comply with probation order and was released to appear in court on August 21st.  Another 22 year-old male was arrested for two counts of assault and will appear before the court in Winnipeg later today.

A 33 year-old male was arrested at his Brandon residence on the strength of an arrest warrant for failing to attend for identification.  He was processed and released to appear in court on September 5th.

Theft Charges:

A 25 year-old male was arrested at approximately 12:50 PM Saturday afternoon in the Keystone Centre grounds, for theft under $5000.  He was in possession of a backpack that he had just stolen from a store within the Shopper’s Mall.  He was held in custody to appear before the court today, as he committed this theft an hour after being released from Police custody, and is pending on 11 other theft related charges.

A 24 year-old male was arrested for theft under $5000 after he stole merchandise from Dollarama, 800 – 18th St.  He was released on appropriate police imposed conditions, and is to appear in court on August 28th to answer to the charge.

Assault and Related Charges:

At about 10:20 AM Saturday morning, Police attended to a residence in the 2400 block Ottawa Avenue in response to a report of a male shooting a female with a BB gun.  Subsequent investigation determined that this was a domestic violence situation. The 29 year-old male suspect was arrested and held in custody to appear before the court today facing numerous charges including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous, possess firearm contrary to prohibition order, and 4 counts of failing to comply with condition of a release order.  The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Others:

Three intoxicated persons, all from separate incidents, were held in custody until they were less intoxicated, as they were either unable to care for themselves or they were causing a breach of the peace.
