Assault Peace Officer X 3

On January 21, 2020, a female inmate from Brandon Correctional Centre was temporarily in the custody of Manitoba Sheriffs Officers as they escorted her to a court appearance in Winnipeg. The inmate assaulted one of the Sherriff Officers by pushing the officer into a wall.

Once back at Brandon Correctional Centre, the suspect spit in the faces of two Correctional Officers.

The 31-year-old female will appear in court today on three counts of Assault Peace Officer.

 

Possess Property Obtained By Crime/ Possess Cocaine, Meth

During the afternoon of January 21, 2020, suspects entered a vehicle on Silverbirch Drive and stole contents from within, including a gift card issued by a local business.

The victim was able to alert the local business of the theft. Employees cancelled the gift card and flagged it should the suspects attempt to use it.

Later that day, the suspects attended the business and attempted to use the gift card shortly before 7:00 pm.  Employees then called police.

A 41-year-old male and a 37-year-old female were arrested at the business. In their possession was stolen property, a small quantity of Meth, Cocaine, and prescription pills. They also possessed drug packaging material and over $600 cash.

The female suspect will appear in court on March 21, 2020 on a charge of Possess Property Obtained by Crime. The male suspect will appear in court on the same day on charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, and Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking X three.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On January 21, 2020, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 800 block of Dennis Street. Suspects gained entry to the residence by forcing a door between 8:00 am, and 5:45 pm. Stolen was a PS4. Breach of Peace

On January 21, 2020, at approximately 8:30 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence. One member of the family was arguing with others and destroying the home by throwing things around.

To prevent the situation from escalating or any harm coming to anyone, a 23-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Breach of Peace

On January 21, 2020 shortly before 7:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence. An intoxicated male was causing issues for other members of the household by arguing and acting out physically.

The 25-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent the situation from escalating.

 

Breach of Peace

On January 21, 2020, just before 9:00 pm, police received a report of a disturbance in a residence. Neighbors could hear crying and screaming coming from within, and were concerned for the wellbeing of the individuals inside.

An intoxicated 34-year-old male was found to be the main cause of the disturbance, and was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent the situation from escalating.

 

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On January 21, 2020, at 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a fight occurring in the common area of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Rosser Ave. As police arrived, one suspect fled out a secondary exit, but was apprehended a short distance away.

Police learned the suspect was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. The 33-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

None of the individuals involved in the fight had any complaint.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On January 21, 2020 just before midnight, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female kicking the main door to an apartment building. The female gained access to the building and began yelling and screaming. Police learned she was to abide by conditions not to consume alcohol.

The 26-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to her intoxication level, and will appear in court on March 30, 2020 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On January 21, 2020, shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence as neighbours could hear several people crying, and another individual behaving in a threatening manner.

One of the individuals involved had left prior to police arrival, and those remaining had no complaint.

A 27-year-old male in the residence was on conditions to abstain from consuming alcohol, and not to communicate with another individual in the residence. Due to his intoxication level, he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear in court on March 16, 2020 on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Other Arrests

Two other individuals were arrested on January 21, 2020.

A 41-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant was located by police and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on a charge of Possess Property Obtained by Crime.

A 41-year-old male was located at a residence an in the company of an individual, contrary to his release conditions. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Center and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order and Fail to comply with Probation.
