Drug Seizure following Search Warrant

On February 26, 2021 at approximately 1:30 am, members of BPS Operational Support and Crime Suppression Unit (OSCSU) assisted by members of BPS Patrol Division conducted a search warrant on a residence on Alaska Bay following an investigation into the occupants.

Officers located and seized 56 grams of Meth, 76 grams of Fentanyl, and 3.5 grams of Cocaine.  Also seized was a small quantity of MDMA and $4000 in cash.  The street or point level value of the drugs is estimated to be $50,000.

Four male occupants of the residence were arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  Their ages are 27, 40, 46, and 48.  Each male will appear in court today on charges of Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth, Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possess Proceeds of Crime.  Several of the individuals also face charges for failing to comply with court orders.

Overnight Break and Enters

On February 25, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a detached residential garage in the 500 block of Victoria Ave.  Suspects gained entry by kicking in a door between 6:30 pm on February 24, and 9:00 am on February 25.  Stolen were electric garden tools.  Suspects also rummaged through a vehicle parked inside and attempted to steal a bicycle.  Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police service at 204-729-2345 or http://police.brandon.ca/contact-us.

On February 25, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a detached residential garage in the 300 block of Percy St.  Suspects gained entry overnight by cutting the lock.  It’s unknown if anything was taken.  Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police service at 204-729-2345 or http://police.brandon.ca/contact-us.

On February 25, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residential garage in the 800 block of 5th street.  Suspects gained entry by forcing the door between 5:30 pm on February 24, and 2:00 pm on February 25.  Stolen was an assortment of meat, which was stored in a freezer.  Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police service at 204-729-2345 or http://police.brandon.ca/contact-us.

 

Breach of Peace

On February 25, 2021 at 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female whose behavior was causing concern for her family.  She was under the influence of Meth, and unable to care for herself.  Her family was also not able to prevent her behavior from escalating.  The 20-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On February 26, 2021 at approximately 12:30 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated 20-year-old female whose behavior was causing concern for her family.  They were unable to care for her or prevent her behavior from escalating.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On February 26, 2021 at 3:30 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in an apartment.  A 33-year-old intoxicated female was yelling and damaging property within the residence and the others present could not prevent her behavior from continuing.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Possession of Meth

On February 26, 2021 at approximately 12:20 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Victoria Ave.  The driver was found to be unlicensed.  Further investigation also revealed that the 49-year-old male was in possession of a small quantity of Meth.  He was arrested and released to appear in court on April 8, 2021 on a charge of Possession of Meth.

 

Arrest Warrant

On February 25, 2021, shortly after 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  One of the individuals involved was found to be wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Attend.  The 19-year-old male was released to appear in court on April 15, 2021.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On February 26, 2021 at approximately 1:30 am, police came across a 40-year-old male pedestrian who was bound by a court ordered curfew.  Once arrested the male was released to appear in court on May 6, 2021 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
