Recovered Stolen Vehicle

On February 25, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of a black F150 from the 300 block of 7th street.  The theft occurred at approximately 11:50 pm.  Prior to the theft, two suspects were observed rummaging through a second vehicle where they found the keys to the truck.

Shortly after 7:00 am, police received a report of a single motor vehicle accident south of the intersection of 26th St and Patricia Ave.  The vehicle involved was the stolen F150, and it appeared to have rolled over onto its side.  There were no occupants in the truck.  Police canine conducted a track from the vehicle, leading police to a residential address. 

Further investigation led police to the location of a 19-year-old male suspect, who was arrested at approximately 8:30 am.  He will be released to appear in court on a later date on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

On February 24, 2021, police responded to a report of a stolen white F150 from white Swan St. at 8:20 am.  While the driver of the truck went inside of a residence for a brief moment, the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside.  In that short period of time, a suspect took the opportunity to drive away with the truck.

Shortly before 10:00pm, the owner’s family located the vehicle a short distance away as it was stuck behind Glendale Trailer court.  The vehicle will be processed by members BPS Forensic Identification Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this motor vehicle theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

On February 25, 2021, police responded a break and enter and theft in the 1000 block of Frederick Street.  Suspects gained access to a garage, which was unlocked and stole Bose Speakers, 2 packages of cigarettes, and an orange and black plaid Harley Davidson jacket.  Suspects also stole a black F150 by accessing keys, which were stored in the garage.  A second vehicle on the property was also rummaged through.  The theft is believed to have occurred between midnight and 6:00 am.

The owner located the vehicle at approximately 4:00 pm parked on Inglewood St.  Anyone with information regarding this theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Arrest Warrant

On February 24, 2021, police located the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant while responding to a separate compliant.  The 39-year-old female was arrested and released to appear in court on April 29, 2021 on charges of Theft Under $5000, Possess Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Appear in Court.

 

IPDA

On February 24, 2021 shortly before 6:00 pm, police responded to the report of a male acting strangely in the middle of the street in the 900 block of 3rd street.  The 33-year-old male was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Possession of Prohibited Weapon

On February 25, 2021 shortly after 2:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Richmond ave.  The driver of the vehicle provided police with a false name.  Further investigation revealed who she was, and that she was on conditions not to attend the city of Brandon.  The 21-year-old female was also found to be in possession of a can of bear mace. 

A second can of bear mace was found on a 22-year-old male passenger who was also arrested. 

The female was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Fail to Comply with Release order X 5, and Public Mischief.  The male was released and will appear in court on April 8, 2021 on charges of Possession of Prohibited Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon.
