For the last 24 hours:

Assault:

At approx. 11:40 AM Friday morning, we were called to the 500 block 7th Street for an elderly male being beat up.  Upon arrival, members located two suspects as well as an 80 year old male victim of the assault.  The victim reported that he and the male had gotten into an argument over the noise the victim was making with his snowblower.  The 40 year-old male and a 28 year-old female then assaulted the victim, who did not require medical treatment.  The two accused were located at their nearby residence and arrested. The female was processed and released on appropriate Police imposed conditions, while the male was held in custody for a period of time until he sobered up, as he continued to be belligerent, and later released, also on Police imposed conditions.  Both accused are scheduled to appear in Court on June 16th.

Business Break, Enter, and Theft:

Late Friday afternoon, a report was received from the owner of a business on Middleton Avenue, reporting that the business had been unlawfully entered sometime over the previous week.  Once inside, the suspect(s) began to strip copper pipe and wire from the building.  A quantity of material was recovered stored nearby.  The matter is under investigation.

Break, Enter, and Theft Suspect Apprehended and Property Recovered:

On April 9th, a bicycle shop was broken into and an eBike, valued at $4700, was stolen. Surveillance video was provided and a photo of the suspect obtained from that. Early Friday evening, a member on patrol stopped a 37 year-old male in the 400 block Victoria Avenue as he matched the description of the suspect. He was detained, and the member attended the suspect’s residence where his father turned over the stolen e-bike.  The accused was released on appropriate Police imposed conditions, and the bike was returned to the business.  The accused is to appear in Court on June 16th.

Vehicle Stop Results In Multiple Arrests:

At approx. 2:10 AM Saturday morning, a member stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block Park Avenue.  A 40 year-old male was arrested on the strength of a warrant for arrest for failing to comply with a Release Order. A can of bear spray was located in the vehicle, prompting further investigation which resulted in a 20 year-old female being arrested for two counts of failing to comply with a Release Order, and possession of a weapon.  These two accused were held in custody and will appear before the Court later today.  Additionally, a 32 year-old male and a 49 year-old male were each charged with possession of a weapon, and released on Police imposed conditions to appear in Court on June 13th.

Others:

A number of others were held, without charges, to sober up after being involved in unrelated incidents over the past 24 hours.
