Impaired Driving

On July 31, 2023 at approximately 2:30 am, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 13th street and Richmond Ave.  The driver of one of the vehicles was exhibiting signs of impairment and arrested.  The 23-year-old female provided samples of her breath more than three times the legal limit.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on August 8, 2023 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

 

Theft Under $5000

On July 30, 2023 at 8:30 pm, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of 18th street N.  The suspect wheeled a cart with the merchandise to the Thompson Bridge where she was located and arrested.  The 27-year-old female was later released and will appear in court on September 25, 2023 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On July 30, 2023, police responded to a report of a custody issue between two parents of a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old.  Investigation revealed that the father was to abide by conditions not to have any communication with anyone under the age of 16, and he was failing to abide by release conditions to reside at a designated address.  The father was arrested at the mothers address when he returned there with the children.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2.

 

Fail to Comply with Probation

On July 29, 2023, police received information that an 18-year-old male was failing to abide by his curfew, as he had not returned home. On July 30, 2023, the male was located and arrested.  Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of 12 grams of Meth and other drug paraphernalia.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Probation X2 and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

 

IPDA

On July 30, 2023 shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the 300 block of Victoria Ave.  The 29-year-old male was located.  He was unable to care for himself and there was nobody to turn him over to.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 30, 2023, shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicate male in the area of the 000 block of 1st street.  Police located the 54-year-old male who was in no condition to care for himself and had nobody to turn him over to.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
