Structure Fire – Residential Garage

On December 30, 2021 shortly before midnight, police responded with members of BFES to a report of a structure fire in the 2800 block of Princess Ave.  A detached garage was fully engulfed in flames.  Residents of nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.  There were no reported injuries.  Two vehicles parked within the garage were also damaged.  The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

 

Assault with a Weapon

On December 31, 2021, at approximately 1:30 am, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence.  Investigation revealed that a 17-year-old female had stabbed a victim.  The suspect was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  She will appear in court on January 25, 2022 on charges of Assault and Assault with a Weapon.  The victim received minor injuries and received medical treatment.   

 

Breach of Peace

On December 30, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a business in the 800 block of Pacific Ave shortly after 9:00 pm.  Investigation revealed that a 21-year-old female and a 23-year-old male were trying to fight others.  To prevent their behavior from escalating and continuing, they were arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober. 

 

IPDA

On December 31, 2021, at approximately 1:30 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the area of the 3700 block of Victoria Ave, with nowhere to go.  Police located the 26-year-old female, who was in no condition to care for herself.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
