Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Possession of a Weapon, Public Mischief

On July 23rd, a man was checked in the downtown area and found to in possession of a knife.  He was released without charge however it was discovered he had lied about his  name.  On July 28th, the man was found by the investigating officer again and was arrested. A 24 year old Brandon resident will appear in court in September on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Breach of Probation, and Public Mischief.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

A 28 year old Brandon man was checked by officers on a bicycle in the 300 block of 10th St.  The bicycle was confirmed stolen. He was arrested and released with a court date in September.

Impaired Driving

A 27 year old Brandon man appeared in court on Saturday on charges of Impaired Driving, Drive Over 80 mg%, Fail to Comply with a release Order x 4.  In the early hours of Saturday, a woman reported a man was kicking and knocking at her door.  Officers located the man at his residence and confirmed he driven to and from the residence. He was intoxicated and was arrested for Impaired Driving. He also breached several conditions of a release order. He appeared in court on Saturday morning and was released for a court date later in September.

Other Arrests

A 23 year old Brandon man was arrested on a warrant for Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court.  He was lodged and will appear in court on Saturday.

A 25 year old Brandon man was arrested on a warrant for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Unauthorized possession of a firearm.  He will appear in court on Saturday.

One person was lodged for Breach of Peace.
