Armed Robbery

On July 25, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly after 10:00 pm.  An investigation in to the matter revealed that a 41-year-old male and a 22-year-old female forced their way into a residence on Basswood Bay and proceeded to assault the residents while attempting to steal cash.  Police arrested the two suspects at the residence.  One of the residents received injuries, but declined medical attention. Further investigation revealed that the suspects possessed an airsoft pistol during the robbery.

The 41-year-old male suspect was to abide by a Release Order not to possess weapons or attend Brandon.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Break and Enter and Commit, Armed Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, and Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

The 22-year-old female suspect was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation.  She was also lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court on additional charges of Break and Enter and Commit, Armed Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement.

 

Counterfeit Money

On July 25, 2021, at 2:30 pm, police located a 37-year-old male in the 800 block of Princess Ave who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation.  Upon his arrest, he was found in possession of a knife, contrary to a Release Order.

The male was also found to be the suspect of an investigation into the use of a $100 counterfeit bill at a Brandon business on July 14, 2021.  Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying him.

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Probation, Fail to comply with Release Order and Utter or Use Counterfeit Money.

 

Drive While Ability Impaired

On July 25, 2021, police responded to a report of an impaired driver in the area of 18th street N at approximately 7:00 pm.  Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver near Braecrest Drive and Knowlton Drive. 

The 36-year-old male provided samples of his breath, which were more than twice the legal limit.  He was later released to appear in court on July 29, 2021 on charges of Drive While Ability Impaired and Drive Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

 

IPDA

On July 25, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave shortly after 12:00 pm.  The 35-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself and nowhere to stay, so she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 26, 2021 at 12:30 am, police responded to a report of a female who was passed out on the road in the 700 block of 18th street.  The 32-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself, and had nowhere to stay, so she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 25, 2021, at 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated 44-year-old male who was causing problems at a residence.  To prevent the male’s behavior from escalating further he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On July 25, 2021, police located a 38-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant following a report of a disturbance in a residence.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, and Fail to comply with Probation.

On July 25, 2021, police located and arrested a 30-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Break and Enter and Theft.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On July 25, 2021, police located and arrested a 59-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  She was later released to appear in court on October 7, 2021.

On July 25, 2021, police located and arrested a 38-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Drive While Ability Impaired, Drive Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood and Fail to Appear in court.  She was later released to appear in court on October 26, 2021.

On July 25, 2021, police locate and arrested a 27-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released to appear in court on August 19, 2021.
