Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking et al

On January 25, 2023, Brandon Police Service Organized Crime Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 100 Block of Victoria Avenue.  During the search, police located approximately 33 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of fentanyl, a Savage pump action shotgun, a Taser, packaging material, score sheets, scales, and a small quantity of cash.  A 22-year-old male was arrested for the following offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order x2
  • Fail to Comply with a Release Order x10

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 

Vehicle vs Pedestrian Collision

On January 25, 2023, at approximately 12:50pm, police responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian collision at the intersection of 11th Street and Victoria Avenue.  The 34-year-old pedestrian was walking north across Victoria Avenue when he was struck by an eastbound car.  The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.  Brandon Police Service Traffic Section continues to investigate the collision.

 

Mischief under $5,000

On January 25, 2023, police received a report of a male causing damage at a residence in the 100 block of 14th Street.  The complainant advised that her son had kicked several doors and broken a window at the residence.  A 32-year-old male was arrested for Mischief under $5,000.  He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March.  

 

Break and Enter to Garage

On January 25, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a garage in the 800 block of 11th Street.  The suspect(s) gained entry and stole numerous items including bicycles, a garden tiller, camping equipment, fishing gear and food from the garage.

Domestic Assault

On January 25, 2023, police received a report of a domestic assault at a residence in the 800 block of 17th Street.  Upon arrival, police learned that the 34-year-old male had slapped and spit on a female.  The male was arrested for Domestic Assault and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.  The male will be released when sober and is scheduled to appear in court in February.   

 

Domestic Assault with a Weapon

On January 25, 2023, police received a 911 call where a disturbance could be heard in the background.  Police attended to a residence in the 600 block of Franklin Street and found a male victim who had been struck in the head with a frying pan by a 24-year-old female.  The female had also bit the male on the arm.  The female was arrested for Domestic Assault with a Weapon and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.  The female will be released when sober and is scheduled to appear in court in March.    

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On January 25, 2023, at approximately 11:00pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of McTavish Avenue.  A 42-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was found to be on a Release Order with a curfew.  He was arrested for Failing to Comply with a Release Order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and is scheduled to appear in court today.    

 

Breach of Peace

On January 25, 2023, police received a report of an unruly female who was causing problems at a business in the 800 block of Lorne Avenue.  The female initially left; however, she returned a short time after and continued to cause problems.  The 37-year-old female was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues.

On January 23, 2023, police received a report of a 37-year-old male causing problems at a residence in the 700 block of Franklin Street.  The male was arrested for Breach of Peace and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues.    

 

Arrest Warrants

On January 25, 2023, police located and arrested a 31-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Assault.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 

On January 25, 2023, police located and arrested a 42-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Appear in Court.  He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March.
