Theft of Vehicle  
 At 9:40 AM Friday, police received a call of a stolen vehicle from Balsam Cres. The caller indicated that when she awoke she noticed the vehicle she had rented was gone. The vehicle is described as a 2022 KIA Forte with Manitoba license KEE 821. The matter is still under investigation.

Possession of a Weapon
At 8:55 AM Friday police were called to the area of Maryland Ave and Cornell Bay for a male who was reported armed with a knife. The male fled when advised that police were being called. Officers attended to the area and located the male on Cornwallis Cres., where he was arrested. During a search incident to arrest, a sheath containing a large machete was located concealed inside his jacket. The 16 year old male has since been released from custody and will appear in court on April 5 2022 charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.

Arrest Warrant Executed
At approx. 2:20 PM Friday, officers located a 31 year old female, wanted for two outstanding arrest warrants, at a business in the 800 block of Lorne Ave. There are numerous charges on the warrants including assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, possess prohibited weapon, possession of stolen property, and theft. During a search incident to arrest she was also found in possession of a replica handgun which she had concealed in her handbag. She was held in custody and will appear in court later today.

Fail to Comply with Release Order / Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
At 8 PM Friday, police were called to a disturbance in the 800 block of Victoria Ave. Upon arrival, a 19 year old male was in an argument with a cab driver over a fare. Officers mediated the dispute and while doing so determined that the male is currently bound by a court order not to communicate with a female who was also in the cab. He was arrested for failing to comply with his release order. During a search incident to arrest officers located a replica Glock pistol and a can of bear spray in his possession. He was held in custody and will appear in court later today.

 

Other arrests
• In three separate incidents over the last 24 hrs, males who were highly intoxicated by alcohol and/or drugs and causing disturbances were arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service until sober.
