Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Theft of Motor Vehicle, Fraud Use of Credit Card:

On Friday morning, Police received a report of a stolen Toyota Corolla that was parked outside a residence in the west-end of the city. The vehicle was reported to be running and unlocked with a wallet containing a credit card left inside. A short time after receiving this report, the credit card was used at a business on 18th ST. Police located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the business and a female suspect was located inside the business. The suspect was in possession of the credit card and made approximately $500 worth of purchases before being arrested. A criminal record check of the suspect found that she had three outstanding Warrants of Arrest for offences including Theft of Motor Vehicle, Fail to Attend Court, Fraud Use of Credit Card, Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property obtained by Crime. The 28 year old female suspect of no fixed address was lodged at the Police Service and held in custody pending a Court hearing.  

 

Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Release Order:

At approximately 1:20 a.m., staff from a business in the 1100 Block of 18th ST reported a male suspect was intoxicated, causing a disturbance and assaulted a security guard. Police attended, arrested the suspect for the assault and located a knife in his possession. A criminal record check revealed the suspect is on a Release Order with conditions to observe a daily curfew and not possess any weapons. The 21 year old male suspect from Brandon was arrested for Assault, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Fail to comply with conditions of a Release Order. He was lodged at the Police Service and held in custody pending a Court hearing.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

  • On Friday afternoon, a 41 year old man was arrested during a traffic stop when it was discovered that he had an outstanding Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Attend Court. The male suspect was lodged at the Police Service pending a Court hearing.
  • A 21 year old Brandon man turned himself into Police on Friday afternoon for having an outstanding Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Attend Court. He was arrested and released from custody, scheduled to appear in Court in December.
  • On Friday afternoon, a 19 year old man turned himself into Police for having an outstanding Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Mischief to Property Under $5000. He was arrested and released, scheduled to appear in Court in December.
  • A 39 year old man from Brandon was arrested on Friday evening at a Motel after Police discovered he had an outstanding Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Attend Court. The male suspect was held in custody at the Police Service pending a Court Hearing.
  • On Friday night, Police observed a man in the 500 Block of 12th ST and were aware that he had an Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for failing to comply with conditions of a Probation Order. The 29 year old man was arrested and released from custody, to appear in Court in December.
  • At approximately 2:30 a.m., Police checked a male walking in the 700 Block of 10th ST and discovered that he had an outstanding Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Theft Under $5000 and Unlawfully in a Dwelling House. The 29 year old man was arrested and lodged at the Police Service pending a Court Hearing.
  • A 43 year old female from Brandon was arrested on an outstanding Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Appear for Finger Prints. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in December.

 

Stolen Vehicle:

On Friday morning, a resident in the 600 Block of Pacific Ave reported the theft of a 2009 Nissan Rogue that was parked in a parking lot behind the apartment complex. The vehicle was left running and unlocked and Police continue to investigate.  

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered:

At approximately 8:00 A.M., an employee of a business in the 1300 Block of Richmond Ave reported a black Kia Forte abandoned at the rear of the business. The vehicle was reported stolen on Thursday night and was towed to the Police Service for forensic examination.  

 

Residential Break and Enter:

On Friday afternoon, Police received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 400 Block of 18th ST. that occurred sometime in the past week. Two televisions and computer parts were reported stolen. Police continue to investigate.

 

Garage Break and Enter: 

On Friday afternoon, a resident in the 500 Block of 38th ST reported that sometime overnight the garage was broken into and a black and white colored bicycle stolen. Security video footage was obtained and Police continue to investigate.
