Assault with a Weapon

On July 24, 2023 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave.  Investigation revealed that adult siblings were fighting.  During the fight, one of them was struck with a wine glass, and required hospital treatment.  The 36-year-old female was arrested and later released to appear in court on September 28, 2023 on a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On July 24, 2023, police received a report of a vehicle theft.  The 2010 blue Hyundai Elantra with MB license KPJ109 was stolen overnight while it was parked at a business in the 1500 block of Moreland Ave.

Stolen Vehicle

On July 24, 2023, police received a report of a vehicle theft.  The 2017 White Dodge Caravan with MB license KBF164 was stolen overnight while it was parked in the 000 block of 26th street.  The vehicle is also a 4-Way taxi with decaling.

Impaired Driving – UPDATE Additional Charges

Original release from December 10, 2023:

On Nov 9 2021, officers were called to a minor motor vehicle collision.  One of the drivers, a 34 year old Brandon male was thought to be under the influence of a drug.  At that time a blood demand was made for the driver to submit a blood sample, suitable for analysis to determine if he was under the influence. With the sample confirming the driver was in fact under the influence of a drug at the time of the collision, he was arrested on Dec 9 and will appear in court on Feb 13, 2023.

Update:

On July 25, 2023, the 34-year-old male suspect will appear in court on additional charges of Driving While Ability Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration.

 

Theft

On July 17, 2023, police received a report of an individual who had stolen a children’s bike from a business in the 900 block of 18th street N.  The male suspect exited the business through a locked door in an attempt to evade security. 

Security footage assisted in identifying the 29-year-old male.  He was arrested on July 24, 2023 and released to appear in court on September 25, 2023 on a charge of Break Out after Committing Theft.

 

IPDA

On July 24, 2023 at approximately 6:30 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female outside a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave.  The 17-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself and there was nobody to turn her over to.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On July 24, 2023, police located and arrested a 28-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On July 24, 2023, a 31-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service, as she was aware of outstanding charges for Fail to Comply with Probation.  She was later released and will appear in court on September 11, 2023.
