Theft of Catalytic Converters – Suspect Arrested

Further investigation into the theft of two catalytic converters has led police to the arrest of a 43-year-old male, after it was learned that he sold the two stolen converters to a local business shortly after the theft.  He was arrested on July 24, 2022 and later released to appear in court on September 26, 2022 on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fraud Under $5000.

Original Release from June 21, 2022:

On June 3, 2022, police responded to a report of the theft of two catalytic converters from vehicles parked in the 2000 block of Louise Ave. 

Security footage from the area assisted police in identifying and locating the 39-year-old male suspect. 

He was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 22, 2022 for Theft Under $5000 X2.

 

Assault

On May 29, 2022, police received a report of an assault, which occurred in the 1900 block of 1st street at a school.  Investigation into the matter revealed that both a 14-year-old female and a 15-year-old male assaulted the 15-year-old male victim.  The incident was captured on both security footage and on bystander’s phones. The victim did not require medical attention. 

On July 24, 2022, the female suspect attended Brandon Police Service with a parent to turn herself in.  She was arrested and later released to appear in court on September 27, 2022 on a charge of Assault.  The male suspect is expected to turn himself in in the coming days.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On July 24, 2022 shortly before midnight, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  When police arrived, they found that a 22-year-old male was not only the cause of the disturbance, but he was to abide by conditions not to have any contact with the other individual.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on September 26, 2022 on a charge of Fail to comply with Undertaking.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 24, 2022 shortly before midnight, police responded to a request for assistance at a residence.  A 27-year-old intoxicated male was attempting to fight with others in the home, and they were unable to prevent his actions from escalating.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 24, 2022 shortly after 8:00 am, police responded to a report of a fight in a residential yard.  A 22-year-old male was found to be the cause of the issues.  To prevent his behavior from continuing, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

IPDA

On July 24, 2022 at approximately 12:30 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male walking into traffic in the area of 13th street and Victoria Ave.  Police located the 46-year-old male who was from a rural address, so he had nowhere to go.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On July 25, 2022, police located and arrested a 28-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Theft Under $5000, Trespass at Night and Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released and will appear in court on September 29, 2022.
