Assault Peace Officer

On September 22, Officers attended a residence in the 1100 block of Russel St.  At that time they spoke with a 21 year old male, while doing so the male attacked a female officer and attempted to choke her.  The male was arrested in relation to the original reason for the officer’s attendance.  On Saturday September 23, the male was arrested for the assault on the officer.  The male will appear in court on November 30, charged with Assault Peace Officer, and Assault by Choking.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 12:10 PM Saturday officers located a male, known to them, walking in the 300 block of 9th St.  The 29 year old male was wanted for failing to attend court.  HE was arrested on the strength of the warrant of arrest, and has since been remanded in custody to September 25.  

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 4:30 PM Saturday, Officers observed a 23 year old male walking in the 500 block of Lorne Ave.  The officers were aware the subject was wanted for failing to attend court.  The warrant was confirmed to be still valid so the officers arrested the male on the strength of the warrant.  Given the circumstances of this situation the arrested male met the requirements for release.  As a result, he has been released from custody with a court date of October 19.

Domestic Assault

At approx. 9:30 PM Saturday, multiple calls were received regarding a disturbance at a residence in the 1600 block of Victoria Ave E.  Officers attended and located a female who stated her boyfriend had struck her several times in the head and back.  The 23 year old male was located at the scene.  He was arrested for assault and has since been released, after consultation with the Crown Attorney’s office. He will appear in court on November 27.

Break and Enter

At approx. 12:05 AM Sunday, officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of 7th St, for a possible break and enter.  Upon arrival, the officers attended to a storage shed at the rear of the property.  The officers entered the shed and located a 37 year old female still inside, rummaging through the property stored in the shed.  The female was arrested for break and enter with intent.  She will appear in court on November 23.

Impaired Driving

At approx. 12:40 AM Sunday, police were called to a drive thru in the 1900 block of Richmond Ave for a possible impaired driver.  Officers attended and located the suspect vehicle.  The 18 year old driver form South Dakota, showed signs of impairment and was arrested on scene.  He provided two samples of his breathe which resulted in readings twice the legal limit.  He will appear in court on October 23, charged with impaired driving and drive over .08.

Possession of Stolen Property

At approx. 3:30 AM today officers conducted a pedestrian check in the 700 block of Rosser Ave.  The 38 year old male, known to most officers is currently the subject of a daily curfew of 10 PM to 6 AM.  A quick computer check confirmed the curfew is still in effect so the male was arrested for failing to comply with his release order.  During a search of the accused incident to arrest, officers located identification belonging to a local female, which had been reported stolen as well as two knives in his possession. A second condition of his current release is that he not possess any weapons.  The male was arrested for failing to comply with his release as well as possession of stolen property.  He has been remanded in custody until tomorrow, September 25.
