Residential Search Warrant

On March 23, 2023, members of BPS Major Crime Unit obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 300 block of 11th street following an investigation into illicit firearms.

Members of BPS ERT and general patrol assisted with executing the search warrant at approximately 10:00 am, and traffic in the area was closed as a precaution.  Three individuals inside the residence were arrested and held at Brandon Police Service. 

Following the search, police seized a modified COOEY model 82 .22cal firearm, bear mace, a small amount of meth and a variety of other weapons.

A 38-year-old male and a 25-year-old female will appear in court today on charges of CDSA Possess Meth, Careless Storage of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

A 30-year-old female will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2, Possess Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order, CDSA Possess Meth, Possession of Firearm knowing its possession is Unauthorized, and Careless Storage of a Firearm.

Impaired Driving

On March 24, 2023 shortly before 3:00 am, police observed a vehicle stop in the middle of the road in the 400 block of Victoria Ave.  The driver got out of the vehicle, and proceeded to urinate on the road, before attempting to run away.  As he was displaying signs of impairment, he was arrested.  He provided two samples of his breath more than twice the legal limit. 

The 53-year-old male was later released to a sober friend and will appear in court on March 30, 2023 on charges of Driving While Impaired, and  Driving with More than 80 mgs if Alcohol in Blood.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On March 23, 2023, shortly after 10:00 pm, police received a report of a vehicle stolen from a business parking lot in the 1900 block of Queens Ave.  Suspects may have gained access to the second set of keys.  The vehicle is a 2019 beige Hyundai Veloster with MB l/p KMH 135.

Breach of the Peace

On March 23, 2023, shortly after 9:00 am police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a residence.  Others were concerned for the male as his actions were escalating.  To prevent his actions from escalating further, the 85-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober. 

 

Arrest Warrant

On March 23, 2023, police located and arrested a 15-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
