Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine

On November 22, 2023, at approximately 5:00 pm, members of Brandon Police Service Organized Crime Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive. Police located and seized 16 oz of Cocaine, approximately $6000 cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Police also seized a 9 mm Glock handgun, magazine, and ammunition. The Cocaine has a street value of approximately $45,000.

A 31-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. He will appear in court today on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possess Proceeds of Crime, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm, Possess Prohibited Device, Possess Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, and Careless Storage of Firearm.

Arson – Suspect Arrested

On November 22, 2023, shortly before midnight, police were advised that Brandon Fire Emergency Service were responding to a fire in a residential shed in the 200 block of 5th street. Investigation into the matter revealed that a 41-year-old male had tried knocking on the door to the residence multiple times but was refused entry. The suspect then went to the shed and started items on fire.

Police arrested the male after he exited the shed carrying an item that was burning. The fire to the items within the shed was extinguished, and the damage to the shed was the result of smoke. There were no reported injuries.

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Arson – Damage to Property.

Break and Enter to Residence

On November 22, 2023, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 600 block of 17th street. Suspects forced their way in between November 20 and 22, 2023 through a window. Several household items were stolen including a green duvet, a large mirror, and an upright vacuum.

Mischief to Property Over $5000

On November 22, 2023, shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a 35-year-old male damaging a vehicle in the 2100 block of McDonald Ave by striking it repeatedly with a golf club. The male also pushed the owner of the vehicle and threatened to hit them with a club.

The male suspect was arrested at the scene and later released to appear in court on February 1, 2024, on a charge of Assault, Uttering Threats, and Mischief to Property Over $5000.

Assault

On November 2, 2023, police responded to a disturbance at a restaurant in the 700 block of 18th street shortly after 12:00 pm. An intoxicated 37-year-old female was found to be the cause of the issues and arrested.

The female was also found to be wanted following an investigation into an assault which occurred on November 9, 2023, at a restaurant in the 1900 block of Richmond Ave. Following her arrest, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on February 1, 2023, on a charge of Assault.

Mischief to Property Under $5000

On October 21, 2023, police responded to a report of willful damage to a residential window in the 800 block of 20th street. Investigation led police to identify and arrest a 15-year-old female. On November 22, 2023, she was arrested and later released to appear in court on March 26, 2024, on a charge of Mischief to Property Under $5000.

Breach of Peace

On November 23, 2023, shortly before 4:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing issues at a residence. The homeowner was unable to prevent their actions from escalating. The 23-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

IPDA

On November 22, shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female screaming in the 600 block of 12th street. The 16-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself, and police were unable to make contact with her family. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
