Break and Enter

On Wednesday morning, the occupant of a residence in the 800-block of 8th street reported his house being broken in to. A quantity of cash was stolen from within the residence. The incident is currently under investigation.

 

Warrants Executed

On Wednesday morning, police were called to an intoxicated person behind a local hotel. The 31-year-old male from Brandon was located. The male was wanted by police for failing to appear for fingerprints. He was arrested and will be released for court in September, once sober.

On Wednesday afternoon, police conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Victoria Avenue and located the passenger who was wanted for failing to appear for fingerprints. The 17-year-old female is also currently bound by the conditions of an undertaking and is not to be in the city of Brandon. She was arrested and released for court in August.

Early Wednesday evening, police received a call from a witness who observed a male spraying bear spray on the street in the 900 block just off of Rosser Avenue. The male fled the area on a bicycle but was apprehended a short distance away. The 38-year-old male from Sioux Valley was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, possess a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. The male was also wanted by Brandon Police for failing to comply with his probation order. The male was held in custody for court in the morning.

On Wednesday evening, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates. The driver was found to be wanted by Winnipeg Police Service for impaired driving as well as being bound by the conditions of an undertaking to not operate a motor vehicle. The 41-year-old male from Waywayseecappo was arrested and released for court in Brandon in September and court in Winnipeg in October.

At approximately midnight, Wednesday night, police were called to a local hotel after an employee reported a disturbance between two females. One of the females, a 37-year-old from Sioux Valley was found to have an endorsed warrant for her arrest for theft under $5000.00. She was released at the scene and will appear in court in August.

 

Domestic Assault

On Wednesday morning, a neighbor reported hearing a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of Russel Street. Police were able to gain access to the residence and discovered an injured female who required medical treatment. The 46-year-old male occupant was arrested for assault with a weapon and failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking. He was held in custody for court in the morning.

At 3:30 am, Thursday morning, a female in the 700 block of 6th street reported being assaulted by her boyfriend, who punched her in the face causing some swelling. The male fled the area prior to police arrival but was located an hour later in the 700 block of 10th street where he was arrested without incident. The 42-year-old male, of no fixed address was held in custody for court and is charged with assault.

 

Impaired Driver

At 3:15 am, police checked a vehicle that was swerving in traffic and stopped in the 2900 block of Victoria Avenue. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was also found to be prohibited from driving. The 41-year-old female from Waywayseecappo was returned to the Brandon Police Service where she provided breath samples at over twice the legal limit. She was charged with impaired driving, drive over .08 and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited. Once sober she was released from custody and will appear in court later in July.
