Domestic Assault, Arrest Warrant Executed:

At 11:00am, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 900’ block of Assiniboine Ave. A 48 year old male was arrested and charged for assault with a weapon for hitting his girlfriend with a broomstick. He was also found to have a warrant from the CP Police for Mischief and Trespassing. He was later released on conditions for court on June 22, 2020.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

At 12:20pm, police attended to BCC and executed a warrant on a 23 year old male inmate on behalf of the Winnipeg Police Service. The male was charged for Breach of Probation and will appear in court in the morning.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

At 1:34pm, police located a 28 year old male in the 2000’ block of Princess Ave who was known to have warrants for his arrest. He was arrested on those warrants for failing to comply with probation, mischief to property, and theft. He was held in custody for court in the morning.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

At 1:40pm, police were called to a residence in the 500’ block of Rosser Ave East as a 25 year old male was banging on the door and the homeowner did not know him. The male was found under the influence and had a warrant from the Pas RCMP for failing to attend court and theft under $5000. He was held in custody until sober and released for court in the Pas on June 23, 2020.

 

Intoxicated Person Detention Act:

At 2:22pm, police were called to a residence near 13th Street and Lorne Ave for a 39 year old male in a yard who appeared to be under the influence of meth. The male was arrested and lodged until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

Long Plain MFNP advised they had arrested a 50 year old man on the strength of a BPS warrant for theft under $5000. He was released for court on August 27, 2020.

 

Structure Fire:

At 7:48pm, emergency services responded to a residential fire on Westaway Bay. BFES extinguished a small fire related to a malfunctioning appliance. There were no injuries and it was deemed not suspicious.

 

Shooting (suspects arrested):

At 8:42pm, police responded to a shooting in the 100’ block of 2nd Street. Two suspects fired two shots into a residence as they were having a disputed with the occupants who were known to them. After the shooting, the suspects fled; however, were arrested a short distance away by police and with the assistance of the canine unit. Police recovered a sawed off .22 caliber rifle with a magazine and a can of bear spray. A 17 year old male is charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possess Loaded Prohibited Firearm, Reckless Discharge of Firearm, Possess Prohibited Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order. A 14 year old male is charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possess Loaded Prohibited Firearm, and Fail to Comply with Probation. Both suspects were held in custody for court in the morning.

Breach of Peace:

At 1:15am, police responded to the 700’ block of 13th Street for an 18 year old female who was high on meth and causing problems. She was arrested and lodged until sober.

 

Breach of Peace:

At 1:50am, police attended to a disturbance at a residence in the 1300’ block of 13th Street. A 24 year old male was found to be intoxicated and causing problems. He was lodged to be released once sober.

 

Breach of Release Order:

At 2:14am, police responded to a disturbance in the 600’ block of 11th Street. A 44 year old male was found to be breaching a release order by having contact with another occupant whom he was prohibited from contacting. He was arrested and lodged for court in the morning.
