Carry Concealed Weapon

On November 22, 2023, shortly after 4:00 am, police responded to a report of individuals inside a multiunit dwelling in the 100 block of Frederick Street, when it should have been empty.  Police located two individuals on the property. 

A 39-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues. 

A 33-year-old male was arrested and found to be in possession of a hatchet, contrary to a release order not to possess any weapons.  He was also not to attend Brandon.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2 and Carry Concealed Weapon.

 

Aggravated Assault

On November 14, 2023, police received a report from Brandon Correctional Centre staff about an assault in which an inmate received serious injuries.  The assault took place on November 10, 2023, and the adult male victim required treatment in the hospital for several broken bones, and head injuries.

Following an investigation into the assault, police arrested two other inmates on November 21, 2023, a 25-year-old male, and a 27-year-old male.  Both remain in custody at BCC and will appear in court today on charges of Aggravated Assault.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 21, 2023, shortly after 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female screaming in the 400 block of 7th street.  Police located the 25-year-old female who was highly intoxicated.  Her behavior caused police to be concerned for her wellbeing, so she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On November 21, 2023, shortly after 10:00 am, police located a 39-year-old male pedestrian in the 1000 block of Rosser Ave who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Sexual Assault.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court.

On November 21, 2023, a 35-year-old male attended the Brandon Court House while he was wanted on outstanding charges of Disobey Court Order X2.  He was arrested and released to appear in court on November 30, 2023.

On November 21, 2023, shortly after 10:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Lorne Ave.  A 43-year-old male passenger was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Assault and Uttering Threats.  Following his arrest, he was released to appear in court on February 2, 2024.
