Assault Peace Officer

On Friday July 21 Brandon Police received a report of an assault on a Correction Officer at the Brandon Correctional Centre. A 49 year old female in custody at the facility sprayed a staff member in the face with a cleaning solution.  The female was arrested by police, and she will appear in court later today.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 9:35 PM Friday, police checked a pedestrian in the 300 block of 6th St.  The 31 year old male, who is known to pole was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant of arrest for assault. He was arrest on the warrant and has since been released for court on September 18.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 9:00 PM Friday, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Kirkcaldy Dr.  A 31 year old male passenger in the vehicle was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant of arrest for failing to attend court.  The male was arrested and has since been released from custody with a court date of September 18.

Possession of Break-in Tools / Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 2 AM Saturday morning, police conducted a pedestrian check in the 400 block of 9th St.  The 41 year old male was found to be the subject of a warrant for two counts of failing to attend court. The charges for those appearances stemmed from charges of break and enter.  The male was placed under arrest and searched incident to arrest.  During the search, he was found to be in possession of several tools consistent with those used to commit break and enters.  In addition to his warrant charges he was arrested for being in possession of break-in instruments.  He is being held for court later today.

Impaired Driving / Drive Over .08

At approx. 11:45 PM Friday, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 100 block of 14th St.  At the time of the stop the driver was displaying obvious signs of impairment and as a result, was arrested for impaired driving.  The 33 year old male provided two samples of his breath which resulted in readings in excess of one and a half times the legal limit.  The accused male was released with a July 27 court date, charged with impaired driving and drive over .08.

Drive while Prohibited

At approx. 3:15 AM Saturday morning, police conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Rosser Ave.  The 44 year old male driver was found to be prohibited from driving.  He was arrested and has since been released with a court date of September 25. 

Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

At approx. 4:35 AM Saturday morning, Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 1200 block of 13th St.  During the course of the tr5affic stop the 21 year old male driver was found to be in possession of two CO2 pistols and a baton. This accused has since been released with a September 14th court date, for three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon.

One of the passengers, a 28 year old male, was found to be on an Undertaking with a condition that he not communicate with a 3rd male in the vehicle.  He was also found to be in possession of a machete.  He has been released with a court date of September 14 charged for possession of a dangerous weapon and failing to comply with his Undertaking.

The third occupant of the vehicle a 35 year old male was found to be the subject of a Release Order with a 10 PM – 6 AM daily curfew.  He was arrested for failing to comply with his Release order and will be held for court later today.

The fourth and last occupant of the vehicle, a 29 year old male, was also found to be on an Undertaking, which included a no contact order with the second of the previously mentioned males.  He was arrested and has since been released with a court date of September 14.
