Impaired Driving

On February 21, 2022, at approximately 9:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male who left a business, then proceeded to drive a vehicle.  Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of 18th street N after police observed the vehicle make an illegal U-turn, and drive on a sidewalk. 

The 22-year-old male driver was arrested.  He provided samples of his breath more than three times the legal limit.  The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood once sober.

 

Assault with a Weapon

On February 21, 2022, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence at approximately 12:00 pm.  Investigation revealed that following an argument both parties assaulted one another with weapons.  The 24-year-old female threw a knife at the 31-year-old male, who in turn attempted to strangle her with a cord.  Neither individual required medical treatment as a result.  Both parties were arrested and later released to appear in court on charges of Assault with a Weapon in April 2022.

 

IPDA

On February 22, 2022, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female at a business in the 1900 block of Queens Ave shortly before 1:00 am.  Police located the 30-year-old female who was intoxicated and had nowhere to stay as she was from a rural address.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On February 21, 2022, a 47-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service as he was aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  He was later released and will appear in court on a later date on charges of Fail to Attend.

On February 21, 2022, police located and arrested a 42-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order.  He was later released and will appear in court on April 11, 2022.
