Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

On October 3, 2023, police conducted a pedestrian check in the 700 block of 10th Street. The 35-year-old male was found to be in possession of a stolen TREK Mountain bike. Search incident to the stolen bike also revealed the male was wearing body armour contrary to the Manitoba Provincial Act. He was arrested and later released to appear in court on December 14, 2023, on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of Body Armour without a Valid Permit.

Assault

On October 2, 2023, shortly after 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male assaulting a female in the 300 block of 4th Street.  A witness indicated they had observed the male grab the female and throw her to the ground several times. On October 3, 2023, Police located the 28-year-old male suspect.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 30, 2023, on a charge of Assault.

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

On September 30, 2023, at approximately 3:00 pm, police responded to the 100 block of 3rd Street for report of a disturbance. Further investigation revealed that a 37-year-old male was chasing two other males in the area with a firearm and threatening them.

On October 3, 2023, a search warrant for the male suspect’s residence was obtained and conducted. 177 caliber and .22 caliber pellet guns were located. The male was arrested and later released to appear in court on December 11, 2023, on charges of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Uttering Threats.  

Assault

On October 3, 2023, shortly after 8:00 pm, police responded to report of an assault that had occurred in the 2100 block of Currie Boulevard. The male and female victims reported that they were approached by two males who proceeded to assault them both, unprovoked. Both sustained injuries. The 19-year-old suspects were located and arrested. They were lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released once sober to appear in court on November 30, 2023, on charges of Assault and Assault Cause Bodily Harm.

Assault

On October 3, 2023, at approximately 6:30 pm, police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred in the 300 block of Lorne Avenue. Investigation revealed that two males who were to have no contact with each other had an altercation which escalated to physical assault. Both the 31-year-old and 23-year-old males were arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Assault and Fail to comply with a Release Order.

Mischief to Property Under $5000

On October 3, 2023, shortly after 7:00 pm, police responded to the 300 block of Dennis Street for a report of damage to property and theft of personal property. Investigation revealed that two youths forced access to another youth’s bedroom in their residence damaging the door then proceeded to steal their personal property. The two 17-year-old female suspects were located and arrested. They were later released to appear in court on December 12, 2023, on charges of Mischief Under $5000 and Theft Under $5000.

IPDA

On October 3, 2023, at approximately 10:15 pm, police responded to report of a possible missing 28-year-old male. The highly intoxicated missing person was located at the Brandon Regional Health Center. As a result of having no one to care for him, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released once sober.

Arrest Warrants

On October 4, 2023, police located and arrested a 34-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was lodged to appear in court today.
