Assault

On May 1, 2023, police received a report of an assault.  Further investigation revealed the known male suspect had been located by the victim sleeping in her shed. When she woke him up, he chased her into the house then pushed her to the floor where he continued the assault by punching and kicking her. He also damaged her cell phone. The 45-year-old male was arrested on charges of Assault, Break and Enter, and Fail to Comply Probation. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

Theft Over $5000

On May 1, 2023, police responded to a report of theft from a business in the 200 block 7th Street.  The suspect, a 34-year-old male who was an employee, had been pocketing cash sales between Jan 2 and March 23, 2023, totaling over $5000. He attended to Brandon Police Service to turn himself in. He was arrested and later released to appear in court on charges of Theft Over $5000 on June 22, 2023. 

Break, Enter and Theft

On May 1, 2023, police responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street for report of a break and enter to a residence. The property owner reported that his truck, camper, and detached garage had been entered between 11pm on April 30th and 7:30am on May 1st, 2023. A gun safe had been entered and nine firearms have been reported stolen. Police are continuing to investigate.

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On May 1, 2023, at approximately 1:49 pm police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of 18th Street North. The operator, a 24-year-old male, and the passenger, a 31-year-old female, were found to have a no contact order in place. Both were placed under arrest. The male was charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and later released to appear in court on June 5th, 2023.

The female, who had also provided a false name at the time of the stop, was charged with Fail to Comply Undertaking and Public Mischief. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

Uttering Threats

On May 1, 2023, at approximately 8:26 pm police responded to the 900 block of 18th Street North for report of an altercation. Further investigation revealed that two males had been involved in a road rage incident. The suspect male had threatened the other while brandishing a knife. When the victim left the location where they had been parked, the suspect proceeded to follow him. The 46-year-old male was located and arrested on charges of Utter Threats and Possession of a Weapon. He was later released to appear in court on June 12, 2023.    

Arrest Warrants

On May 1, 2023, police located and arrested a 45-year-old male on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to Appear in court today.

On May 1, 2023, police attended to Brandon Correctional Centre to locate and arrest a 21-year-old male on outstanding charges. He appeared in court yesterday.

On May 2, 2023, Winnipeg Police Service located and arrested a 22-year-old male on outstanding Brandon Police Service charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Utter Forged Document. He was later released to appear in court in Brandon on June 26, 2023.

Breach of Peace

On May 1, 2023, at approximately 7:15 pm, police responded to the area of Marsh Crescent for a disturbance. A male suspect had been observed walking around the area, yelling, and swinging a stick. He was located and upon refusing to leave the area was arrested to prevent further issues. He will be released this morning.

On May1, 2023, at approximately 8:10 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 000 block of 15th Street North. The caller reported his neighbour had come into his residence uninvited. The 31-year-old male suspect was located in the area and found to be highly intoxicated and agitated. He was arrested to prevent further issues and lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released once sober.
