Driver charged following Motor Vehicle Collision

On November 7, 2021, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at approximately 6:00 pm in the 1800 block of 18th street N.  The two vehicles involved were travelling in the same direction when the car struck the SUV from behind sending it into the ditch.  The three passengers of the SUV were treated for minor injuries.  The passenger of the car was injured and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the car fled the scene.  Police were unable to locate him at the time. 

On November 16, 2021, the 46-year-old male driver of the car turned himself into police and was arrested.  He was later released to appear in court on January 13, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Remain at the Scene of Accident Causing Bodily Harm.  He also faces numerous fines under the Highway Traffic Act.

 

Break and Enters

On November 16, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business shed in the 1500 block of Russell Street.  Suspects forced their way into the shed between November 11 and November 16 and stole electrical material.

On November 16, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential shed in the 700 block of Louise Ave.  Suspects forced their way in within the last several days and stole a brown E-Motion, Neo City e-bike.

Stolen Vehicle

On November 16, 2021, police responded to a report of a vehicle theft from Cornell Bay.  Suspects stole the 2011 charcoal coloured Chevrolet Silverado overnight.  It was located in the morning outside of Portage La Prairie.

IPDA

On November 16, 2021, shortly before 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male yelling in the area of the 2400 block of Victoria Ave.  The 36-year-old male had nowhere to stay and he was in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
