Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

An 18 year old Brandon man was arrested on Saturday morning in the 0 hundred block of 19th St after an officer recognized him and knew there was a warrant for his arrest.  After he was arrested, he had a knife hidden in the waistband of his pants.  The man will appear in court in September on charges of Possession of a Weapon and Breach of Probation.

A 24 year old man from Brandon was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with Break and Enter with Intent.  A homeowner in the 800 block of 14th St called police after located a man in his shed.  The man ran off to the west and was located nearby by officers.  He was lodged and will appear in court on Sunday morning.  The same man  was also charged with Theft Under $5000 as a result of a complaint from a department store on Victoria Ave on July 13th where a male suspect stole $200 in merchandise. His identity was confirmed from surveillance video.

Shortly after 8:00 pm on Saturday evening, a vehicle collision occurred at 6th St and Park Ave.  Officers attended and the driver of the vehicle that struck the other vehicle showed signs of impairment. The female driver was arrested and provided breath samples over 3 times the legal limit. The driver, a 34 year old Brandon resident, was lodged until sober and released to appear in court later this month.

At 1:48 am, officer responded to a report of an injured man at a hotel in the 3500 block of Victoria Ave.  Before officers arrived, the man pulled a hand gun out, pointed it a security guard and threatened to kill him.  The suspect was located by officer near 34th St and Victoria Ave and CO2 pellet pistol was found in the waistband of his pants.  The suspect, a 19 year old with no fixed address, was lodged and will appear in court on Sunday charged with Possession of a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Disguise with intent, and failure to comply with a Release Order.

Other Arrests

A 31 year old woman from Sioux Valley was arrested on a warrant held by the RCMP. She also gave a false name and will be charged with Public Mischief.  She will appear in court in September.

A 23 year old Brandon man was arrested for breaching a release order as he was located outside his residence and intoxicated.  He was lodged to appear in court on Sunday morning.

A 21 year old Brandon woman was arrested on a warrant for Failing to Appear for Prints. She was outside a residence in the 0 hundred block of 12th St North causing a disturbance. She was arrested and lodged until sober. She will appear in court in September.

A 32 year old man was arrested on a warrant and released for court in September. An officer on patrol checked him in the 100 block of 5th St.

A 30 year old Brandon woman was arrested and lodged after she was arrested on several warrants. She caused a disturbance in her home when she returned intoxicated. She will appear in court on Sunday.

Two people were arrested on warrants and released for court dates in August.

One person was lodged for Breach of Peace.
