Possession of a Weapon

On August 17, 2021, shortly before 1:00 am, a taxi driver stopped behind the police station and flagged down police, as they were unable to wake a passenger who had passed out in the vehicle.  When police approached the 33-year-old male passenger, they found he was in possession of a machete. 

He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level.  He will be released when sober to appear in court on November 8, 2021 on a charge of Possession of Weapon.

 

Uttering Threats

On August 16, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence at approximately 12:30 am.  Investigation revealed that a 35-year-old male had been at the residence in spite of a no contact order.  Police learned he had also threatened the homeowner before leaving.  When he left, he took with him a cell phone that belonged to one of the residents.  Police were unable to locate him at that time.

The male suspect proceeded to call the victim from multiple phones throughout the night.

He was eventually located and arrested shortly after 3:00 pm.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X 4, Uttering Threats, and Theft Under $5000.

 

Assault

On August 16, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault shortly after 3:00 pm.  The 23-year-old male suspect struck the victim causing the victim’s glasses to break. He also caused damage to the vehicle that the victim was driving.  The victim did not require medical attention.  The suspect was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 12, 2021 on charges of Assault and Mischief to Property Under $5000.

 

Breach of Peace

On August 16, 2021 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a male yelling at motorists in the 1900 block of Richmond Ave.  Police located and arrested the 27-year-old male suspect who was highly intoxicated.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his behavior from escalating.

 

Fail to Comply with Probation

On August 16, 2021 shortly before 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a fight in a residence.  The individuals involved were too intoxicated to provide an accurate account of what occurred. 

A 30-year-old male was arrested, as he was to abide by conditions not to consume alcohol.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released when sober to appear in court on November 8, 2021.  Also arrested and lodged to prevent the situation from continuing was a 33-year-old female.

 

Arrest Warrant

On August 16, 2021, police located and arrested a 49-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court and Impaired Driving.  Arrangements were made to have the male appear in court later that day.
