Break and Enter

On Thursday afternoon, a call was received of a break and enter to a business in the 500 block of Pacific Ave.  The incident occurred between 6 PM on the 14th, and 9 AM on the 15th, with the suspect gaining entry by forcing the door.  Nothing was stolen from the property and the matter is still under investigation.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

At 12:05 AM today, officers stopped a commercial vehicle on Buttercup Bay as it was observed travelling on the street with no taillights.   The driver of the vehicle was found to be a suspended driver as well as the subject of a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with a daily court ordered curfew.  As the curfew was still in effect, he was arrested for a new charge of breaching his release order as well as on the strength of the warrant.  He was held overnight and will appear in court this morning.

 

Break Enter and Theft Arrest

On April 7th 2020, a business in the 1800 block of 1st St North reported a break and enter where a laptop was stolen.  The incident was recorded on the business’s video system and officers were able to identify the suspects from the video.  Last night officers located the two suspects during unrelated calls for service and both arrested.  A 39-year-old Brandon female and a 44-year-old Brandon male have both been charged with break enter and theft and will appear in court on July 9th.

 

Impaired Driving / Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample

At approx. 5:10 AM this morning, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of 1st St. The driver displayed significant signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving.  During the process of the investigation, the breath demand was read to the suspect however he refused to provide a sample of his breath for analysis.  Due to his level of impairment the 28-year-old male from Melita is being held until sober, he will be released with a court date of July 23 charged with impaired driving and refuse breath sample.

 

Other Arrests: 

  • 2 people were arrested and held for breach of the peace.
