Aggravated Assault

On June 14, 2022 shortly after 6:00 am, police attended to a report of a serious assault in a residence on Acadia Blvd.

Police discovered a 39-year-old male alone at the scene with significant injuries caused by multiple suspects who left prior to police arrival.  The victim was transported via ambulance to the hospital to be treated.

Police continue to investigate. 

 

Fraud

On June 13, 2022, police received a report of the theft of a bankcard from an unlocked vehicle in the 1200 block of 1st street.

The suspect used the card to make purchases at three Brandon businesses.  Security images from the businesses assisted police in identifying the suspect.

On June 14, 2022, police located and arrested the 45-year-old male.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and appeared yesterday in court on charges of Fraud X5 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Possession or Property Obtained by Crime

On June 14, 2022 at approximately 1:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male with a stolen bicycle in the 1500 block of 1st street.

A family member of the individual who owned the bike recognized it and knew it had been stolen.

Police located and arrested the 28-year-old male nearby.  He was still in possession of the stolen property.  He was later released to appear in court on August 8, 2022 on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Possession of a Weapon

On June 14, 2022, police responded to a report that a youth had discharged a can of bear mace inside a school in the 2300 block of Louise Ave. at approximately 2:00 pm.  Other youth were in the vicinity at the time, but nobody was directly hit with the spray. 

Police arrested the 14-year-old male and released him to an adult relative.  He will appear in court on July 26, 2022 on a charge of Possession of a Weapon.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On June 14, 2022 shortly before 11:00 am, police located and arrested a 29-year-old male who had failed to abide by his release conditions by checking in at Brandon Police Service.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Breach of Peace

On June 14, 2022 shortly before 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female at a residence.  She was damaging property, and the others in the home were unable to prevent her actions from continuing.  Police arrested the 24-year-old female and lodged her at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On June 15, 2022, police located and arrested a 30-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court, Break and Enter and Commit, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court this morning.
