Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On June 18, 2022, shortly before 6:00 pm, police responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically with a flat tire, before the occupants left it near Dogwood Blvd.  Police located and identified the occupants; however, it wasn’t until several days later that investigators were able to confirm that the vehicle was stolen.

On July 14, 2022 shortly after 12:00 pm, police located and arrested the 15-year-old female who was involved in the stolen vehicle.  She was later released and will appear in court on August 22, 2022 on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Possession of Child Pornography

On May 5, 2022, police received information that a 39-year-old male who was to abide by conditions not to possess a cell phone may be in breach of that order.  Investigation revealed that the suspect was breaching several conditions, and that he was in possession of child sexual abuse images.  He was arrested on July 15, 2022.  He will appear in court on July 25, 2022 on charges of Possess Child Pornography and Fail to Comply with Release Order X3.

 

Break and Enter Residential Sheds

On July 14, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a shed in the 200 block of 13th street.  Suspects entered the shed overnight and stole a black Bike, an electric hedge trimmer, and manual hedge trimmers.

On July 15, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a shed in the 1200 block of 9th street.  Suspects are believed to have broken in sometime after midnight.  Once inside they stole a red Snap toolbox containing tools.

Assault

On July 15, 2022, police received a report of an assault, which occurred at a residence that afternoon.  Investigation revealed that the 45-yar-old male struck a 7-year-old female several times.  She did not require medical attention.  The suspect and the victim are not related.  The suspect was also to abide by conditions not to have any communication with the victim’s mother.

Police located and arrested the suspect that evening.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Fail to Comply with Court Order

On July 14, 2022 at approximately 12:30 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of 10th street.  Police located the two individuals involved and learned that the 21-year-old male was not to have any communication with the female.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fali to Comply with Court Order.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 14, 2022, at approximately 11:30 am, police responded to a report of a female walking in traffic in the 2200 block of Princess Ave.  She was banging on car windows and trying to stop traffic.  Police located the 26-year-old female who was believed to be under the influence of illicit drugs.  To prevent her behavior from continuing, she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 14, 2022, shortly after 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female throwing rocks at a residence in the 500 block of 13th street.  Nothing was damaged, but the female would not calm down.  To prevent her actions from continuing, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service.

On July 14, 2022 shortly before 6:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who claimed she was being shot at after she sought assistance from people in the area of the 300 block of Douglas Street.  It was determined that she was hallucinating due to use of illicit drugs, and that nobody was after her.  To prevent her actions from escalating, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
