Residential Search Warrants – Seven Individuals Face Charges for Property Offences

On October 13, 2021, members of general patrol were following up on a report of abandoned property when they came upon a suspicious male who was moving a large quantity of used power tools, believed to be stolen.  The male was arrested and the property seized.

Further investigation into the stolen property led members of Brandon Police Service Operational Support and Crime Suppression Unit and Major Crimes Section to obtain warrants to search two residences during the afternoon of October 13, 2021.  One residence located in the 800 block of 16th street and the other in the 100 block of 8th street N.

During the searches, police located a large number of items confirmed to be stolen property, including tools and power tools.  Police also located a number of items believed to be stolen, however further follow-up is required to determine ownership.

Arrested were a 34-year-old male, a 44-year-old male, two 37-year-old males, a 39-year-old male, and a 46-year-old male.  They were later released to appear in court on December 12, 2021 on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Also arrested was a 44-year-old female who was the subject of outstanding charges.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on the outstanding charges as well as an additional charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Theft of Vehicle & Break and Enter to Residence

On October 13, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to the porch of a residence in the 200 block of 4th street.  Suspects gained entry overnight through a window.  Once inside they stole vehicle keys.  They then stole the homeowner’s vehicle, which was located, parked in the 400 block of 7th street later in the day.  Anyone with information regarding this B&E and Vehicle Theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Break and Enter to Residential Shed

On October 13, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential shed in the 1300 block of White Swan St.  Suspects cut the lock overnight to gain entry.  Once inside they stole two chain saws (Homelite and Husqvarna).  Anyone with information regarding this B&E is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On October 13, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd street.  The suspect entered the home around 8:00 pm through unknown means.  It is not clear if anything was stolen.  Anyone with information regarding this B&E is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 13, 2021 at 4:00 pm, police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated 37-year-old male who was no longer welcome in his residence due to his escalating behavior.  He had caused damage to property, and his family was unable to prevent his behavior from continuing.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 13, 2021, at 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a 17-year-old female who was under the influence of illicit drugs while at home.  Her family was unable to prevent her behavior from escalating, and she was becoming increasingly unpredictable.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service.

 

Arrest Warrants

On October 13, 2021, police located and arrested a 38-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released to appear in court in November.

On October 14, 2021, police located and arrested a 34-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Assault.  He was later released to appear in court on December 30, 2021.
