Possession of a Prohibited Firearm

On July 14, 2023, shortly before 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male on a bike carrying a weapon in the area of Cornwallis Cres.  Police located and arrested the male who had a loaded sawed off .22 Cal rifle tucked into his pants.  He was also in possession of a Beretta replica .177 Cal BB handgun. 

The 20-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon X2, Carry Concealed X2, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammo.

 

Attempt Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Theft – Suspect Arrested

On July 14, 2023 at approximately 3:30 am, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 1000 block of Victoria.  A suspect attempted to gain entry to the business by breaking a window, but he was unsuccessful. 

Police located and arrested the male at the scene.  He was found to have a knife in his possession.  The 32-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Attempt Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Theft and Fail to Comply with Probation X2.

 

Break and Enter and Commit Mischief – Suspect Arrested

On June 10, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a business in the 1100 block of Brandon Ave.  The suspect forced his way into an exterior storage unit, and once inside, he poured out containers of cooking oil, and caused damage to some property.

Security footage of the incident assisted police in identifying the 35-year-old male suspect.  He was located and arrested on July 13 and was released to appear in court on September 25, 2023 on a charge of Break, Enter and Commit Mischief.

 

Criminal Harassment

On July 13, 2023, police received a report from a female that her ex had been repeatedly contacting her, contrary to a no contact order.  Investigation revealed that the unwanted communicating had been ongoing since March 2023.  The 48-year-old male suspect was located and arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Criminal Harassment and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

IPDA

On July 14, 2023 at approximately 9:30 pm, police came across an intoxicated male in the 1000 block of Pacific Ave.  The 36-year-old male was in no condition to care for himself and he had no one to look after him.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
