Bear Mace Incident – Suspect Arrested

On July 13, 2022 shortly after 9:00 pm, police received multiple reports of a male in the area of the 100 block of Princess Ave E. who was in possession of bear mace.  He had attended to several residences in the area and caused a commotion by throwing things around, however the only person who was sprayed with the bear mace was himself.  He used a tap in one of the yards to attempt to rinse himself off.

Police located and arrested the 15-year-old male youth who was still in possession of the bear mace.  He was also to abide by conditions not to possess any weapons and to observe a daily 7pm curfew.

He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2.

 

Theft Under $5000

On July 13, 2022 shortly before 5:00 am, police responded to a report of a female who had stolen merchandise from a business in the 900 block of 18 street N.  The female suspect left the business, but was located and arrested nearby.  Upon her arrest, police found she was in possession of a knife.  The merchandise was returned to the business.  The 41-year-old female was later released and will appear in court on September 12, 2022 on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of a Weapon.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 13, 2022, police responded to a report of a female who was under the influence of meth in the 900 block of Princess Ave at approximately 1:30 pm.  The 35-year-old female was screaming and running into traffic.  To prevent her actions from continuing, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 13, 2022 shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a suspect who appeared to be checking out private property in the 4500 block of Victoria Ave.  Police located and arrested the 29-year-old male.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his actions from continuing.

On July 13, 2022 at approximately 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a 24-year-old male who was behaving strangely towards other patrons at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street.  To prevent the male’s actions from escalating or continuing he was lodged at Brandon Police Service.

On July 14, 2022 shortly before 3:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  Investigation revealed that a 52-year-old male who was intoxicated was the cause of the issues, as the others in the home could not prevent his actions from escalating.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 13, 2022 at approximately 11:30 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female who was being destructive at a residence by throwing things around.  To prevent her actions from continuing, the 25-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 14, 2022 shortly after 1:00 am, police responded to a report of a female in the 1300 block of Princess Ave who was hallucinating due to meth use.  To prevent her actions from escalating, the 29-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On July 14, 2022 shortly after 5:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing problems in a residence by trying to fight other family members.  To prevent his actions from continuing, police arrested the 33-year-old male and lodged him at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On July 13, 2022, police located and arrested a 45-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Release Order.  She was later released to appear in court in October.

On July 13, 2022, a 23-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service, as he was aware of outstanding charges of Fail to Appear Court.  He was later released to appear in court on September 15, 2022.

On July 14, 2022, shortly after 3:00 am, police responded to a report of an individual who appeared disoriented in the area of the 200 block of 1st street.  The 31-year-old female was located and found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Comply with Probation.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
