Theft Under $5000

On July 21, 2023, police received a report of a theft of groceries from a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue.  Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying the suspect.  On September 11, 2023, the 41-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on November 16, 2023, on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

Assault

On September 11, 2023, police received report of an assault that took place in the 800 block of Princess Avenue on September 5, 2023. The 35-year-old male suspect threatened the adult female victim while holding a knife to her. He was arrested and later released to appear in court November 9, 2023, on charges of Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Utter threats.

Possess a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

On September 11, 2023, at approximately 7:40 pm, police observed a female in possession of what appeared to be a firearm in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue.  Further investigation revealed that the suspected firearm was a BB gun, and she was also in possession of a folding knife. The 28-year-old was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court this morning on charges of Possess a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x2 and Possess a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order.

Arrest Warrant

On September 11, 2023, a 34-year-old male was located and arrested on outstanding charges of Assault Cause Bodily Harm x2. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

Breach of Peace

On September 12, 2023, shortly before 1:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. The 24-year-old female that was causing the problems was located and arrested.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues.

On September 12, 2023, shortly after 1:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of 18th Street. A 32-year-old male was found to be highly intoxicated and aggressive. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues. He will be released once sober.

Assault with a Weapon

On September 12, 2023, shortly after 4:00 am, police responded to a report of an adult male uttering threats in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue. Further investigation revealed that the 29-year-old suspect had assaulted another adult male and was in possession of a knife contrary to a condition of his probation. He was arrested and later released to appear in court November 23, 2023, on charges of Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply Probation.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On September 12, 2023, shortly before 6:00 am, police conducted a pedestrian check in the 800 block of Louise Avenue. The 25-year-old male was found to be in noncompliance with a Release Order condition to abide by a daily curfew and he was also in possession of stolen identification. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Fail to comply with a Release Order and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
