Impaired Driving / Flight from Police

On July 12, 2023, at approximately 1:00 am, police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of 1st street and Park Ave.  The driver would not stop or pull over, but accelerated away from police.  Police did not pursue the vehicle and deactivated the emergency lighting; however, the suspect vehicle could still be seen in the distance.  When the vehicle reached 1st street and Richmond, the driver lost control, and the vehicle drove into the ditch in the 1500 block of 1st street. 

The driver tried to run from the vehicle, but police stopped and apprehended him a short distance away.  The 25-year-old male showed signs of impairment and was arrested.  He provided samples of this breath more than the legal limit. 

He was lodged and will appear in court today on charges of Driving with More than 80 mg Alcohol in Blood, Driving While Ability Impaired, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle and Flight From Police.

 

Fraudulently Obtaining Food

On July 9, 2023, police received a report that a male left a restaurant in the 800 block of Princess Ave without paying for his $50 meal.  Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying the 22-year-old male.  On July 11, 2023, he was located and arrested.  He was later released to appear in court on September 7, 2023 on a charge of Fraudulently Obtaining Food.

 

Fraudulently Obtaining Food

On July 8, 2023, police received a report that a male left a restaurant in the 1500 block of 18th street without paying for his $32 meal.  Investigation led police to learn the identity of the 33-year-old male who was located and arrested on July 11, 2023.  He was later released to appear in court on August 24, 2023 on a charge of Fraudulently Obtaining Food.

 

Arrest Warrants

On July 11, 2023, police located and arrested a 35-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Uttering Threats, Criminal Harassment and Distribute Intimate Images.  She was later released to appear in court on September 7, 2023.

 

IPDA

On July 11, 2023 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of two intoxicated females fighting in the 000 block of Willowdale Cres.  When police arrived, one of the suspects, a 20-year-old female was found to be in no condition to care for herself.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of the Peace

On July 11, 2023, shortly after 10:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male trying to fight employees at a business in the 1100 block of 18th street.  The 42-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On July 11, 2023, shortly before 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.  When police attended, they found the cause of the issues hiding on the roof.  The 30-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order as she was in communication with a resident there against her release order.
