Theft Under

On February 3, 2022, police received a report of the theft of a backpack from a car in a parking lot in the 1600 blk 18th St. the victim left their vehicle for a short time and when they returned their backpack was missing. The backpack contained an Apple MacBook laptop and various other personal items. Video surveillance showed a male from another vehicle, opened the car door and take the backpack. On February 11, 2022, police attended the address of the vehicle. A male answered the door and identified himself. After some questioning, he admitted to stealing the backpack. He was arrested. He stated that he had thrown the backpack in a dumpster. He showed police the dumpster where he retrieved the backpack which still had the laptop computer and all the other contents. The 23 year old male was charged with theft under and released to appear in court on April 4, 2022.

Damage To Property

On February 7, 2022 at approx. 1:50 pm, police received a report that a doorbell camera on an apartment in the 100 blk 14th St., had been ripped out and stolen. At approx. 12:01 am that day a male attempted to walk straight into the apartment. When he found the door locked, he rang the doorbell multiple times. He was fiddling with the camera and the signal was lost. The following morning, the owner noticed that the camera had been ripped out and was gone. Police were able to identify the suspect.

On February 11, 2022 at approx. 10:15 pm police observe the suspect in the 200 blk Louise Ave. He was arrested and charged with Mischief to Property. He was released to appear in court on April 11th, 2022

Assault

On February 12, 2022 at approx. 2:15 am, police received a report that a female had been assaulted and pushed out of a car in the 3100 blk Victoria Ave. Police attended and she had a bloody face and some bruising. She was taken to BRHC for treatment. She identified her assaulter and he was located at a house in the 3200 blk Victoria Ave. He was intoxicated. The 17 year old male was arrested for assault. A check also showed he had an outstanding warrant. He was lodged to appear in court this morning.

OTHER ARRESTS

On February 11, 2022 at approx. 12:15 pm, police received a report of a young man causing problems at a house in the 600 blk Percy St. He left walking and was located on Frederick St. Police ran a check on the 28 year old male. It was determined that there was a warrant of committal for his arrest. He was arrested and held to be transferred to the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

On February 11, 2022 at approx. 6:45 pm, a taxi pulled up to the police station with an intoxicated male passed out inside. The 50 year old male was arrested and held to be released when sober.

On February 11, 2022 at approx.8:00 pm, a 45 year old male, attended at BRHC and was causing problems. He was intoxicated. He was arrested, cleared medically and held to be released when sober.

On February 11, 2022 at approx. 9:30 pm, police attended a Motel in Brandon to check on a subject. Police ran a check on the subject and there was a warrant for his arrest. The 36 year old male was arrested and released to appear in court on April 7, 2022.

On February 12, 2022 at approx. 5:00 am, police received a report of a female causing problems in the 800 blk Pacific Ave. Police attended and attempted to calm her but she would not calm down. She was arrested and held to prevent any further problems.
