Identity Theft

On May 10, 2023, shortly before 2:00 pm, police received a report of a female attempting to open a financial account at a business in the 500 block of 1st street by using identification that didn’t appear to belong to her.  Employees were suspicious because the female did not match the descriptors on the ID that she presented. 

Police arrested the 35-year-old female.  She was in possession of stolen ID and stolen forged cheques.  The was later released to appear in court on July 6, 2023 on charges of Identity Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possess/Utter Forged Document.

 

Break and Enter and Commit Assault

On April 30, 2023, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence at approximately 3:00 pm.  Investigation revealed that a 33-year-old male attended to the home and forced his way in before assaulting the adult male homeowner.  The two individuals were known to one another.  The victim received injuries that were not serious, but required medical treatment. 

On May 10, 2023, the suspect was located and arrested.  He was later released to appear in court on July 10, 2023 on a charge of Break and Enter and Commit Assault.

 

Assault

On May 10, 2023 at approximately 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence.  The homeowner reported her adult son came home intoxicated and proceeded to assault her before he locked her out of the home.  He then went outside and punctured the tires on her vehicle with a knife.  The victim did not require medical attention.

The 20-year-old male was arrested at the residence.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault, Mischief Under $5000 and Possess Weapon.

 

Theft Under $5000

On May 8, 2023, police received a report of the theft of approximately $200 worth in grocery meat from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave.  Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying the suspect. 

On May 10, 2023, police located and arrested the 40-year-old male suspect.  He was later released to appear in court on July 10, 2023 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

LGCCA

On May 10, 2023, shortly before 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male attempting to get into a business in the 300 block of 18th street N.  The business was temporarily closed for renovations, but the male was too intoxicated to realize this.  When police arrived, he was in no condition to care for himself and he was openly consuming alcohol.  The 66-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober and will receive a fine for consuming in public upon his release.

 

IPDA

On May 10, 2023, shortly before 7:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the 100 block of McTavish Ave E who was in no condition to care for himself.  The 48-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Fail to Comply with Conditional Sentence

On May 10, 2023 shortly before 8:00 pm, police came across a 44-year-old female in the 000 block of 10th street, who was not in compliance with her conditional sentence.  The female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.
