Disorderly in Licensed Premises

At 12:55 a.m. today, police attended a licensed premise in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue in regards to a disturbance.  A 19-year-old Brandon male was intoxicated and fighting with staff and patrons. The male will be released from police custody later today once sober, and will be issued a fine under the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act for being disorderly in a licensed premise.

Other Arrests/Incidents

  • At 8:00 a.m. Friday, police attended a disturbance at an apartment in the west end of the city. A 60 year old male was intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the home. For his safety and the safety of other occupants in the apartment, police took the male into custody for release later once sober.
  • At 7:40 p.m. Friday, a female reported that several people were outside of an east end home shooting at the house with high caliber weapons. On arrival, police found the female caller and a second female on scene, age 50 and 23 years, both of Brandon. Both were high on meth and hallucinating. For their own safety, both were detained in cells at BPS and will be released later today once sober.
  • At 1:10 a.m. today, a business in the 1600 block of 18th Street reported a male causing a disturbance on site. Police located the 21-year-old Brandon male in the area. He was high on meth, held in cells overnight, and will be released later today when sober.
  • At 1:40 a.m. today, police attended a west end residence where an adult male was experiencing a mental health crisis. Officers were able to convince the male to accompany them to the Brandon Regional Health Centre to receive mental health supports. The male was admitted to the custody of professionals for further care.
