Impaired Driving
A 39 year old Brandon man was arrested on Saturday afternoon and has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driver over 80 Mg%. A witness reported an erratic driver and the suspect vehicle was located on Willowdale Crescent. The male driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested. He provided breath samples confirming he was impaired. He was charged and released for court later in July.
A 19 year old male passenger in the vehicle was arrested on an arrest warrant. He was lodged due to intoxication and was released on Sunday morning to appear in court August.
Domestic Assault
On Saturday morning, a woman reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend at a friends residence. Officers attended and spoke with the victim however the suspect had left. The suspect, a 22 year old Brandon man, was located later in the day when officers attended an unrelated incident. He was arrested and lodged to appear in court on Sunday.
A 39 year old Brandon woman was arrested for assault on Saturday afternoon. Officer responded to a complaint from the woman’s spouse that she had assaulted him while he was trying to remove his belongings from their home. The woman was released to appear in court in August.
Weapons Possession/Warrants
A 32 year old man from Brandon was arrested on Saturday when an officer on patrol recognized him in the 800 block of 19th St and was aware he was wanted on several arrest warrants. He also had brass knuckles and two knives in his possession. He was lodged to appear in court on Sunday.
At 140 am on Sunday, a vehicle was stopped by police after the driver narrowly missed colliding with the police car on Rosser Ave. The driver showed signs of impairment and he was further examined by a Drug Recognition Expert confirming his impairment by a drug. A 64 year old Brandon man was charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired and released to appear in court later in July.
Uttering Threats
At 1250 am, officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block of McDonald Ave when the resident reported a neighbor was throwing rocks in their yard and yelling at them. The neighbor was warned regarding this behaviour, however a short time later he entered the neighbors backyard and threatened to kill them. The man, a 41 year old Brandon resident, was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats. He was lodged and later released for court in August.
Other Arrests
A 32 year old Brandon will appear in court on Sunday morning after he was arrested for breaching a reside clause of a release order.
One person was lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
