Stolen Property Recovered/Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

On December 7, 2022, police received a report of a stolen cargo trailer at a residence in the 000 block of E. Fotheringham Dr.  Further investigation into the suspects and the stolen trailer lead the BPS Crime Suppression Unit to obtain a search warrant.  During the search, officers located three stolen E-bikes, an electric scooter, 7 additional bicycles, numerous power tools and a shotgun.

Arrested were a 33-year-old male and a 36-year-old female.  Both were lodged at Brandon Police Service.  The male will appear in court today on charges of Fail to comply with Probation, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm Contrary to Probation Order and Careless Storage of a Firearm.  The female will appear in court today on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm Contrary to Probation Order and Careless Storage of a Firearm.

 

Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Collision

On December 7, 2022, police and BFES crews responded to a report of a truck vs. pedestrian collision at 34th street and Victoria Ave at approximately 5:30 pm.  The 69-year-old male driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested.  He provided samples of his breath that resulted in an administrative suspension. 

The 26-year-old female pedestrian received injuries, which were minor in nature, and she was taken to the hospital to have her injuries treated.

 

Unlawfully in a Dwelling

On December 7, 2022 at approximately 7:30 am police responded to a report of a homeowner arriving home and finding a female known to him asleep in one of the bedrooms.  The 40-year-old female was to abide by conditions not to communicate with the homeowner.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court on charges of Unlawfully in a Dwelling and Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

 

Break and Enter to Storage Shed

On December 7, 2022, police received a report of a break and enter to a shed in the 1500 block of Princess Ave.  Suspects cut the lock overnight and stole batteries and chargers.
