Flight From Police – Stolen Vehicles

On August 6, 2022 shortly after 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a stolen 2018 Chevrolet Silverado from Glenboro, which was observed driving through Brandon.  Police were able to locate the vehicle and identify the 40-year-old male driver.  When police attempted to stop the vehicle the suspect fled in the area of Crocus Crescent as it drove across a residential lawn and committed numerous other traffic violations.  He was not stopped and an arrest warrant was sought for charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving, and Prohibited Driving.

On August 7, 2022, at approximately 8:00 pm, police came across the male suspect in the box of another truck in the area of the 300 block of 11th street.  He immediately fled on foot from police to avoid arrest.  Police were able to stop him and arrest him in the 1100 block of Louise Ave.  The truck box he was in, a Dodge Ram 1500 was later determined to have been stolen out of the RM of Whitehead.  The license plate on the vehicle also did not match, and it was determined to also be stolen from the 1600 block of Louise Ave.

The 40-year-old was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on additional charges of Resist Arrest and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2.

 

Mischief Under $5000

On August 7, 2022 shortly before 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a business in the 1000 block of 10th street.  Employees kicked the male out, but he then proceeded to throw rocks at the windows causing damage.  He was located and arrested a block away.  He was released once sober to appear in court on September 26, 2022 on a charge of Mischief to Property.

 

Theft Under $5000

On July 14, 2022, police received a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave.  The suspect left the store, but he was identified by the employees and from his image on the security footage.  On August 7, 2022, he was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 3, 2022.

 

Breach of Peace

On August 7, 2022, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male who was being disruptive towards employees and clients at the hospital.  To prevent his actions from continuing, the 40-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On August 7, 2022, a 27-year-old female attended to Brandon Police Service, as she was aware of outstanding charges of Operate Conveyance While Prohibited, and Fail to Appear.  She was later released to appear in court in October.
