Impaired Driving

On March 6, 2022, police responded to a report of an impaired driver leaving a business in the area of 18th street and Brandon Ave shortly after 2:00 pm.  The witness followed the driver, and police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of 11th street.  The driver was arrested for impaired driving, but he refused to provide samples of his breath. 

The 41-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired, Drive While Prohibited, Refuse to Provide Sample with Demand, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspects Arrested

On March 6, 2022, at 10:00 pm, police located the stolen red Chevrolet Cobalt parked in the 300 block of 18th street N.  Suspects had removed the licence plate, and replaced it with a different stolen licence plate, but police were able to verify it was the stolen vehicle from the VIN number.

Further investigation led police to locate and arrest two suspects nearby.  One of the suspects, a 42-year-old male, was found with the keys from the stolen vehicle in his possession.  He was later released and will appear in court on May 2, 2022 on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.  The second suspect, a 43-year-old female was also released to appear in court on May 2, 2022 on a charge of Possess Property Obtained by Crime

Original release from March 2, 2022 –

On March 1, 2022, police received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 700 block of 10th street.  The suspect stole the vehicle, which was left running and unattended shortly after 9:00 pm.  The vehicle is described as a red Chevrolet Cobalt with Manitoba licence KTW633.

 

Theft of Vehicle

On March 7, 2022, police responded to a report of the theft of a vehicle from the 1100 block of 18th street between 5:00 pm on February 5 and 3:00 am on February 6, 2022.  Police later located the 2004 white Dodge Durango stuck in a snowbank in the area of 9th street and southern Ave.

Breach of Peace

On March 6, 2022, police responded to a report of an adult male behaving in an aggressive manner towards individuals who were trying to access a business in the 1500 block of 18th street shortly before 2:00 pm. 

The 27-year-old male was given numerous opportunities to leave; however, he kept coming back, and was blocking traffic at the business.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his actions from continuing.

 

Arrest Warrant

On March 7, 2022, police located and arrested a 28-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Aggravated Assault.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
