June 7th, 2022

On the morning of June 6th, 2022 police responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Lorne Avenue after receiving a complaint that a 27 year old male had smashed a mirror and ripped the door from its hinges.  Upon police arrival the male maintained his belligerent behavior and was arrested for breach of peace. 

 

 

Possession of Weapon Dangerous/Resist Arrest/Warrant 

On the morning of June 6th, 2022 police responded to the 100 block of Lorne Avenue after receiving a complaint of 3 suspicious males attempting to pick a lock to a shed.  Upon police arrival one of the males was noted to have a large knife hanging in a sheath from his neck.  Police advised the male of his arrest, followed by the subject fleeing on foot.  Police pursued the male for two blocks, whereby he was taken to the ground and a struggle ensued.  During the encounter with police the subject attempted to access a second knife which was on his person.  A check of police records further showed the male to have a warrant for his arrest.  The 27 year old male has been held in custody to appear in court June 7th, 2022 for the charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, Carry Concealed Weapon, Resist Arrest, CDSA Possession and Fail to Attend Court.

 

 

Warrant - Uttering Threats 

On June 6th, 2022 BPS received a request from RCMP to execute a warrant for an inmate in custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre.  The 26 year old male is to appear before the court June 7th, 2022 for the charge of Uttering Threats.

 

 

Fraud Over $5000 

On June 6th, 2022 police arrested a 27 year old employee to a Brandon business.  The male was found to have been refunding customer purchases to his personal account over the period of a year to the amount of $12,000.  The male is to appear before the court August 4th, 2022.

 

 

Breach of Peace 

On the evening of June 6th, 2022 police received a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in the downtown area.  The 39 year old male was located in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue and arrested for Breaching the Peace.  The male is to be released from BPS once sober.    

 

 

Breach of Peace 

On the evening of June 6th, 2022 police responded to a residence after receiving a request to conduct a well–being check on a male that was hallucinating and experiencing panic attacks.  The male was determined by police to be highly intoxicated by crystal meth and incapable of caring for himself.  As such, the male was arrested to ensure his own safety.  The male will be released from custody once sober.

 

 

Breach of Release Order 

On June 7th, 2022, police attended to a Brandon residence and initiated a curfew check on a 36 year old male.  The male was determined by police to not be at the location and in violation of his release conditions to abide by a curfew.  The male in question was later located by police and arrested to appear in court June 7th, 2022.
